All alone on Christmas Day...but I'm okay with that I'm spending Christmas Day all by myself. While it sucks a bit that I don't have a significant other to share the holiday with, I always end up getting stressed out by the time Christmas comes along and usually get sick just before Christmas Day arrives. Usually I get really sick and have to miss work, but this year I loaded up on Vitamin C and probiotics to stay healthy. Nevertheless, I started coming down with a fever three days ago, and while I had scheduled these days off from work to celebrate the holiday, it came just as the area I live in had an ice storm followed by seven inches of snow and below zero temperatures.

I'm fine with being with family during Christmas Day but I don't think a night alone would hurt lol

For me this Christmas is most definitely a lonely one. I usually spend the holidays at my mothers house but since shes now gone, I'm just here all by myself... I don't think Thanksgiving and Christmas will ever be the same for me. Y'all have a Merry Christmas. I really mean that .
Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.

I spent the first half of the day with my kids then the second half alone I was so worn out by everything I did for them that I crashed on the sofa infront of the tv I woke up at 2am with a stiff neck had a shower and went back to bed I thought I would just be sitting there all lonely and teary eyed but luckily I didn't have a chance to b consumed with those feelings But the fact that others out there did feel lonely really makes me sad Hope this helps..... ! mailto:www.iDon'tThinkSo.com.Uranus

This year, we did Twister (drunk) and we had a game with assignments before you get your gifts. Assignments as "wrap the person left of you as a beautiful present" or "Turn the person to your right int a snowman" (person used papertowels and put a carrot in mouth.
It's just always a blast, and people just have fun and there are no rules, except to not judge eachother or be negative. 99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

It works both ways (alone or a house full of people)
I think it'd be worse to be all alone on New Year's Eve; even if you don't have somebody, it's always pleasant to just merge with the crowd and celebrate the new year...

The past three years and probably six of the last seven I've spent alone. I don't mind Christmas or New Year's alone as I can't spend them with the one(s) I prefer.
I live alone and am blessed in that I don't get lonely.
I am not inviting myself to someone's home and I try to only call family and close friends. I don't want an afterthought invitation. I'd decline. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

A big 2 Shyra AND dJJ. I appreciate the positive thoughts and words.
My heart goes out 2 you Shyra. Loosing a parent(s) is always hard but when it happens around the holidays its even more so, and probably taints future holidays that the death happened around.
My dad died New Years day 1994 and my mother died august 2nd of this year so i most definitely feel where u are coming from. My mother death date is gonna haunt a lot of future holidays and birthdays. My birthday is September 8th and my brother's birthday is July 12th. Also my grandmother, oldest aunt and one female cousin's(said aunts daughter) birthdays are in February. That's significant because my mother's birthday was February 3rd. In the past, she, her mother, her closest sister and her niece would usually all get together and celebrate their February birthdays.
Anyway happiness 2 all.

i kinda like it alone. as a somewhat still young single guy if i get my parents a gift and my grandkids gifts I prefer to grab a nice hotel from Dec 23rd thru Jan 2nd and just chill, watch all the showings of A Christmas Carol eat, drink, buy myself a few gifts. i think in general i enjoy my own company 2 much.
