1. 12 Years a Slave: Without any doubt it's the best film ever made about slavery in America, hands down, and ironic how it took a British director to make it, great (Oscar-worthy) performances, great story, this is pure gold and the new masterpiece of 21st Century along with There Will Be Blood and Lord of The Rings.

Still waiting for The Wolf of Wall Street, August: Osage Country, Philomena, At Berkeley, 20 Feet from Stardom, Dallas Buyers Club.

Still in the watchlist-but-don't-think-gonna-make-the-top-20: All Is Lost, Saving Mr Banks, The Hobbit.

Nice movies: The Butler, The Way Way Back, Man of Steel, The Great Gatsby, Frozen,

I've seen most of those. The Great Beauty is my top film of 2013.

I also gave these perfect ratings (5/5):
American Hustle
Gravity (3D IMAX version)
Stories We Tell
12 Years A Slave

Almost perfect (4.5/5):
All Is Lost
Fruitvale Station
La vie d'Adèle / Blue Is The Warmest Color
Much Ado About Nothing
Nebraska

So I guess that is my top ten of the year so far right there. The other movies released this year I've seen I gave 4/5 ratings or lower.

I haven't seen many films this year but I really want to see American Hustle. I did really really enjoy Gravity.
