Ok, I figured this was worth a try... Please vote for the my local SPCA (I live about 30 minutes away from this community). They are finalists to win $100,000 for the shelter and believe me they really need it. They have slipped down to 10th position this weekend. My son and I volunteer there each weekend and it's always so hard to see so many animals in desperate need. It is a smaller community and they really struggle to get support.
It will only take 30 seconds of your time, you can easily log in through facebook, no services will be pushed on you for doing this and you can quietly vote without having it linked to your page. There is only 3 days left to vote and you can place one vote once each day.
Maybe this thread will just be in vain, but I figured I should at least try.
Thanks!

Voted.
It's awesome that you take your kid there to volunteer.

Thanks! They moved up to 8th place yesterday, so there is hope for the next two days! Remember, you can vote each day if you would like to!
At this point in the finals it looks like they will receive $5000, so even if they don't win the whole thing they can still get some help. |

Definitely do it. Volunteer doing something that they will really enjoy doing.
I personally firmly believe that a child that is raised to be kind and giving to animals will grow up to be an adult that is compassionate and giving to all.

When's the next voting round?
99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%. |

that's wonderful that you and your son volunteer. my son volunteered last week helping collect and give supplies to a school that was burned down. the kids lost everything in their class rooms, books, computers, etc...always wonderful to see our kids giving back and not being selfish. be kind, be a friend, not a bully. |
