I also listen to several talk radio shows. One of my favorites is Curtis Sliwa, AM970 The Answer. He has a show in the morning from 6 - 9 am and one in the evening from 5-7 pm with Governor David Paterson. I am not interested in politics, but he makes it interesting when he talks about it. I listen to him everyday.

I listen to either NPR or XM radio mostly.

On XM I listen to MSNBC, Urban View, Progress, or POTUS for news. For music I listen to The Groove or Soul Town.

Sometimes I listen to Pandora and other internet radio stations too.

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

NPR & MPR (Minnesota Public Radio)

MPR includes "The Current" which sort of our alterna-radio station.

Obviously both are public, listener supported stations.

I also listen to KFAI on occasion, which plays a variety of R&B, funk, that kinda thing.

MPR puts out some good content. In fact, so much of what I hear and enjoy on CBC and NPR stations is actually from MPR and its American Public Media parent that it all just sort of runs together in my head anymore. (To the chagrin of all involved, I'm sure. lol )

Occasionally at work I'll listen to the local news station, but usually i'm too caught up in things to have it on for more than a minute or two. I do listen to a lot of CBC & NPR podcast versions of their programs - The World at Six, The Current, Q, Day 6, Planet Money, etc...

Public radio is pretty huge here. And it's well supported. Of course there's Garrison Keilor but my favorite show lately is Wits. It's a series that combines music and usually a comedian/actor/author or someone generally awesome and there are guest stars beyond that and its recorded in the same theatre as Prairie Home Companion only it's held at night and there are drinks. It's like a big party to go to a recordning session and it's really a hoot. I didn't get to any this last season. I really wanted to go last Firday when the guests were David Cross and Har Mar Superstar but I was too late to get tickets.

It makes me feel quite adult to listen to public radio, and very Minnesotan, but I like it.

Acutally, the Current puts on one of the biggest music festivals here, Rock the Garden (in partnership w/Walker Art Center). So I suppose it's not always THAT adult.

I love Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me! lol Such a fun show.

Have you ever heard a CBC show called The Debaters? Two people, usually comedians, square off to argue over some matter -- and the cases they mount are often hilarious. The winner is named based on audience response. I think you'd like it.

I really like the TuneIn app on my Android phone. They also have a website. I find it to be pretty cantankerous for some reason, but I've never had an issue with the app (though it helps if you have a 4G or Wi-Fi connection). It lets you listen to radio on stations all over the world as well as Internet radio stations. One of my favorite stations to play during a party is Hot 102, an Internet station that's basically a recreation of a radio station that used to be really popular in Milwaukee. I also have WeFunk on my favorites list, a Dutch station called ClassicFreaks.com, a Polish station called Radio Polskie - Soul, and a surprisingly nice Las Vegas terrestrial station, 105.7 the Oasis. There are about a million others, but those are the main ones I listen to. In addition to genre, you can also search by artist to find stations that have recently played a particular artist. For better or worse, I've even found stations that are entirely dedicated to 80s freestyle music.

And I see all of your creations as one perfect complex
No one less beautiful
Or more special than the next
