I'm experience the cliche whiny ''where is my life going'' 23 phase.

I am turning 23 next month ont he 20th...

Damn I'm about to be 23. I have accomplished a lot for being 22 but not enough! working for a big company and getting the chance to work on big videos, commercials, short films etc. Is really great and i appreciate the opportunities. But, i really want more than just that. I have started practicing my piano and bass everyday no matter how many hours at work, the gym, or on side projects. Cause besides sound design i want to get into the producing and composing side of sound as well.

I'll sleep when I'm older

And pish posh to you turning 23, (LOL ok I'm jealous)........... In 10 years you'll probably have a different mind-set on life.

Embrace and enjoy what you have right NOW, even the struggles and bad times being young, broke and or lonely aren't the worst problems to have, (assuming those are the biggest issues in your life).

Make THE most of being 23 and enjoy all that 23 has to offer. 23 seems, so far, to be busy being the young restless, fun, and experimenta people we need to be in the moment. And that's okay. Find yourself. Just take care to make sure that in your self discovery of yourself you don't cause others unnecessary pain. Do YOU!!

When you look back and you WILL look back you will think of 23 hell 33 as YOUNG and foolish and you'll wish you had taken the advice in this thread to heart.

In fact, a few weeks before my 21st birthday, I first thought that ... getting old.

When I was 16 , I thought I had grown , now for me it's the children . older people always turn to my 50 -year-old dad - " the young man ."
I read somewhere that 23-28 - the "golden age " , the basis for most of human achievement is laid in this interval , so good luck!

One thing i will say is cherish your family. Especially your parents. I don't know anything about your relationship with your parents and family, weather you get along with them or not. If you don't have a good relationship with them work on developing one. If you do have a positive relationship with your family, value your time with them and create good, lasting memories.


I don't mean to sound morbid or be a buzz kill but the chances are that you will out live your parents. You don't want to look back on the time you spent with them(as you get older) and have bad memories and wish you would have done some things different.

Whatever it may be, you will most definitely see some things different at age 35, 45, 50, than u do now.

Anyways work hard, have fun, save money and always wear a rubber !
