Maroon 5′s Adam Levine Recalls The Epic Night He Was Christened By Prince!

Just because Maroon 5 is busy getting ready for their North American tour doesn’t mean it’s all work and no play. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. In a recent interview with David Letterman frontman Adam Levine explained how he came to take part in a late night jam with Prince.

“I had a jam session party at my house in LA,” Adam recalled. “I called all my friends and was like, ‘Let’s play music in my living room. I’ll set it up, it’ll be great.’”

Adam knew Prince’s assistant and decided to extend the invitation to Prince.

“Turns out he wanted to hang out. So he came over,” he said. “He came with his band, it was kind of like a Prince movie. Here he is with his bass player, drummer, keyboard player.”

Adam said it’s a night he’ll never forget. Embarrassed because it wasn’t an elegant party (they were having nachos), Prince didn’t seem to mind and once he arrived asked if he could play.

“His band takes over and starts jamming in my living room,” he said. “Something breaks and he stops and he says, ‘Let’s go to my house. The jam session will continue at my house. Bring all your friends.’”

“So we go to his place and jam and play music until 6 a.m. and I kid you not, at the end of the night he did offer us pancakes,” Adam said.

Are you saying that Adam is somehow famous or more famous becuase he met Prince?

Basically, think of Prince like a god n another realm. It's easier 4 me 2 think of him as a character n a movie than a real person. mean, of all the people who might b aliens or angels or something like that — if we found out that he was not of this Earth, wouldn't be that surprised.

Seriously, this "christened" by Prince thing must have been a publicity stunt on some level. I dunno, maybe Prince just likes this group because they are a band (as opposed to artists who "sing" over tracks)....I guess it's like Prince is giving them props because they are just simply a "band".

I misquoted it! It was quoted from an innerview with Adam & his bandmate from Maroon5! His bandmate Carmichael! Actually said that quote. My apologies goes to anyone besides that thing above me. I'm a very honest & humble person and wanted to clear it up..
