If you really want to know whom your true friends are, go through a crisis, especially an economic one. Bridzilla did her a favor by showing her true colors.

Although, this could be real, chances are this is staged. This does make a good story.

With today's youth, I don't doubt it for one minute. You're lucky if you get a thank you note for the gift you did "submit." And if the tacky bride could afford to spend $200 a head on her guests, she shouldn't be bitching about what gifts she received. With that kind of money, she could buy her own shit unless she only invited five guests.

The only time I heard from certain cousins was when they were having some sort of party/reception that required a gift, and by gift, I mean money. After that, I never heard from them again. If by chance I get any furture invites to their little gimme parties, I will send a card, with not narey a damn dime. Hell, for $50, I can buy my own rubbery chicken dinner.

When we were kids they asked us what we want, but we had realistic expectations. We had a normal list and the only expensive thing we ever asked for was a video game system for Christmas from our parents. We would never consider asking extended relatives to purchase such an expensive gift.

Not to mention those "Make a Child Happy for Christmas" benefits or charities. My job used to sponsor such a thing for "disadvantaged youth." They would hang paper ornaments from a tree with a child's name and their gift wish. You would think these kids would ask for things that didn't cost a fortune, but most of them wanted xboxes and phones and computers! Then when the day came for the gifts to be distributed, it was a damn mad house with the adults claiming "their child's" gift. I even overheard one woman say, "Sheeit. I'm taking this right to da stoe and gettin the money!" Needless to say, that was the last time I participated in that sham.
