Question For Orgers Who Are The Youngest Child In Their Family

Does it bother you when people refer to you as, "The baby of the family"? It does me, I HATE it when people call me that. Gets right under my skin. Whenever people call me the baby of the family, I tell them, "I'm (my current age) years old. I'm HARDLY a baby!" rolleyes rolleyes When I say that, it shuts them right up. evillol I could see if I really was a baby, or a very young child, but this has been said to me several times since I no longer was a child. Pisses me right off. disbelief disbelief

I'm the youngest, but there are only 2 of us. No one refers to me as the baby. Does it bother you because you think you aren't being taken seriously?

I always got the impression that there were more perks to being the youngest. I don't care if you refer to me as the baby, just as long as I keep getting my way!

biggrin

lol My brothers always try to tell me that I always got my way when I was little. I don't see it that way. I wonder if they just say that because THEY wanted to be the youngest child. lol

RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I don't particularly like being call "the baby", or "little Miss Stace" as one aunt refers to me, but I've gotten used to it... I more hate when people are retelling something I said, using a 4 year old voice disbelief . I know I have a soft voice, but I'm not an infant

If you will, so will I

I would hate that more too, in fact, I would not put up with it. I would stop it right away. Nobody should have to put up with that foolishness. disbelief

I was the baby of the whole family including cousins... I wasn't spoiled but I was still able to work it to my advantage most of the time so it has never bothered me. Now I just clown everybody for being old. biggrin

That used to bother me when I was younger. I am 37, so now it does not bother me to be the youngest.

My aunt still calls me Babygirl to this day. My ex called me Babygirl mushy , & would use that name for me in his cards and letters.

I like it in P's song Call My Name: If I don't see you real soon babygirl I might go insane fallinluv

I don't mind it, I actually like it. wink

When my Grandmother was alive she was always teased by her older sister(My Great Aunt) and the whole family for being the baby. You will be the baby until you have closed your eyes on this world.

***************************************************************************

Now here's my personal Flip-side. On my Mom's side I am the oldest and I loved Bossing my younger brother around when we were kids and I Boss him around whenever I can today. I am the OLDER sibling and even though he's a Dad now he knows what time it is...I am the King Son.

******************************************************************

On my Dad's side I'm the BABY and I didnt grow up in the same house with my older Brother. I'm so use to being the Oldest I tried Bossing my Older brother around and he wasn't having it. He shut me down QUICK and I've decided to let that go...LOL... It"s wonderful being the Oldest on one side of the family and very strange being the youngest on the other side.

I'm the oldest of two, so I can't relate.

HOWEVER, my youngest is now 12 and definitely is the "baby" of the family. He relishes his status as the "cute" one.

Somewhat related: My oldest (now 15) is Ren junior (I am of course Ren senior). For the LONGEST time, he was "Baby Ren"...I mean up until maybe 3 years ago EVERYONE referred to him as "Baby Ren" all of the time.

Finally we started referring to him as "Renny" and it's stuck.

On a more related note: My younger brother is STILL referred to by a "cute" little nickname that my mom dubbed him when he was 3 years old. I'm glad he's a confident dude, because it's so over-the-top that I won't even post it publicly.
lol
