So...last night I was at this small concert and I had the best, and I mean THE BEST Long Island Iced Tea that I've ever had in my life.

It was strong and tasty. I hadn't eaten since my california roll @ lunchtime. It hit me like a rock...I was drunk after 1/4 of the cup.

So I'm there at the concert, and the more I sipped, the woozier I got. So I decided to stop drinking midway and enjoy the music.

Got me thinking... hmmm this could be an interesting thread...

Hey Orgers -

  1. Do you drink? (alcohol of course)
  2. If so, do you ever get drunk?
  3. If so, what is the MOST drunk/shit-faced you've ever been?
    1. How long ago?
    2. Did you enjoy it?
    3. Did you regret it?
    4. Would you repeat it?
  4. Is there an alcohol that you can't stomach because of a bad experience?

1. No 2. No ~ last time I was "drunk" was before I moved to NC - close to 30 yrs ago ! NO I did not enjoy it ! NO I do not regret it _ I learned MUCH from it ! ~ NO I will never repeat it !

Good thing there was no facebook those days. I enjoyed most of my drinking...but sometimes it would makhe me sad/depressed. That and crohns disease made me drastically cut back. I dont regret none of it and would it again. Only tequila i cant really stomach and thats cuz its tequila. I got passout drunk and vomiting from goldschlager on H.. grad night...i can still drink that...EASILY...its delicious. i wish my tummy problems and sleepiness allowed me to nk more. i always get really tired and sleepy and wanna lay down...not fun...but untill that appens, im a , jovial drunk...not an angry or argumentative drunk !...but i do talk more than ...but everyone i know says im a fun drunk. drink :martini: [Edited 9/20/13 15:46pm] [Edited 9/20/13 15:52pm]

I went to a party and drank myself silly. At the time I only weighed about 100lbs. (pout)
I was so sick... the house was spinning, the bathroom floor was the only place that I felt comfortable... I also lived home at the time, which made it worse, because my Mom had NO sympathy for me. sigh

I really thought that I was dying. I probably should have had my stomach pumped.

The next day I found out that I had drunk-dialed some people and told them what I really thought... boxed

Yeah, I'm done. That was one of the worst experiences of my life. shake

1. For the most part, NO lol However, as you know around orgers I fall for peer pressure

2.The last couple times I drank alcohol, I was more tipsy. Not really drunk.

3. I have gotten very drunk a long time ago in my teenage, "trying to impress fake friends" days... Did not enjoy it at all... Did not regret it, since it was a "finding myself moment", but I wouldn't repeat it

4. I don't really like any alcohol lol . Not because I'm some party-pooper, only because it's nasty for the most part to me. Just never developed a taste for it.... Also, I kind of like keeping my guard up so I can maintain may shy, socially awkward persona nod

1. Occasionally

2. I have but for the most part there's no point in me going past getting a little buzzed or relaxed, drunk doesn't last long and the after effects and sluggishness aren't worth it.

3. (1) It was a long time ago, as a teen. (2) Yeah, it was an experience, even though I cursed a few folks out, I had fun doing it. (3) No, nothing bad really happened, I guess I was kind of embarrassed about getting in an arguement with folks over some ridiculous stuff. (4) Nah, those days are gone forever.

4. I'm one of those few that don't like the taste of alcohol so unless it's sugared up I'm probably not going to drink it beyond a social glass of wine, so what it is really doesn't make a difference.

  1. Do you drink? (alcohol of course) Yes sir. But mostly these days an occasional glass or two of red wine (Chianti is my favorite) since I hit 30.
  2. If so, do you ever get drunk? Not anymore.
  3. If so, what is the MOST drunk/shit-faced you've ever been? I've had 3 major times when I've been shit faced drunk. Once when I was 21 (and no it wasn't my 21st birthday)...the 2nd was in college at a party in someone's dorm room and the 3rd was at a New Year's Eve party when I was 23.
    1. How long ago? See above.
    2. Did you enjoy it? When I was 21, naw not really. I was depressed at the time and when I woke up I realized I blacked out because I was in my bed still in the same clothes from the night before and couldn't remember how I got into bed. My cousin luckily was the one who put me in bed with a trash can beside me. The 2nd and 3rd times, yeah they were fun as hell!
    3. Did you regret it? Not at all. Every experience is for a reason.
    4. Would you repeat it? Naw not really. I remember one time I woke up at 5am laying beside the toilet. Apparently I had become a civilized drunk and always knew when I was going to get sick...so I would somehow end up sleeping in my bathroom praying to God to make the room stop spinning and to remove the nauseated feeling from my stomach. During this praying I would fall asleep, wake up in the wee hours of the morning and then take myself to bed as if nothing happened. lol
  4. Is there an alcohol that you can't stomach because of a bad experience? Bacardi Razz. I will never touch that shit ever again in life.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Wow. Since very few of you drink here, I'll play along.

1. Yes. Mostly wine these days, though there are a LOT of craft breweries in my neighborhood and my bf likes that kinda thing so I drink a fair amount of beer now and again too.

2. I try not to but it happens on occasion. Maybe 2-3 times a year. Some of you may remember Anxiety/Anx. He and I dueted on "Love Shack" at a karaoke bar back in June. You know that wasn't happening without multiple cocktails.

3. Sadly, I can think of several "most" times. I had a pretty wayward youth. I've been kicked out of a bar, I've blacked out, I've done things I'm not too proud of (though nothing all that unsafe - like I never drove drunk). But generally I was always OK, thank goodness. It's been several years since any of all that nonsense. I had lots of fun and very few regrets, other than I wasn't doing myself or my body any favors. I'm done with all that now for good reason but if I had to do it all over again I probably would, just maybe not so extreme. I really did have a great time.

4. I have been sick from drinking a fair number of times but there isn't an alcohol I avoid because of it. I only avoid alcohol I don't like the taste of, like whiskey and tequila.

1. I do. In moderation. A "liquor run" (full home booze set up) will last me nearly a year. I like wine and there is great wine here in the PNW!

2. I have never been drunk in my life. I do not like feeling "out of control" and I only drink with food. And depressed as I've been in my life, I never drink when I'm really feeling down; that just makes me feel worse. I only drink when I'm in a fine mood. cool

My own 30th birthday party.

Blacked out, embarrassed myself in front of all my friends, threw up (a great dinner) and have never done that again.

Today, a few beers on a Friday night will make me a little tipsy and I stop because I'll have a headache the next day.

er

I remember a hangover so bad I had to stay in bed the whole next day. I puked even if I had one glass of water. I swore to never drink again. Of course I did. But it was never that bad again. So I think I improved. Slightly. Oh, I don't drink anything stronger than wine.

drink

1. I do, not much at home; just the occasional beer...I still have 3 beers out of a 6 pack I bought July 4th weekend confused

usually if I drink, its when I get together with friends for a party or if we go to a concert

2. I try not to but I'll admit to enjoying a good alcohol buzz and getting drunk, but not sloppy

3. The worst was at a small house party many years ago, early 90's..drank too much of too many diiferent things...broke a family heirloom that belonged to my best friends mom, runined a relationship I'd just started, made an all out ass of myself...did not enjoy it. I absolutely regret that night on many levels & would never wanna re-live or repeat it

4. Cisco...see above bad experience...do they still make that shit?

I recently did a 2 night concert hop of one of my favorite bands...the first night, my friend & I (the same above mentioned best friend) sat at the bar waiting for the band to come on...well, apparently I lost track of just how much beer I consumed because when the band began to play and I tried to make my way to the stage, I couldn't...I was way too drunk and didnt realize it until I tried to get up...I sat there trying to get it together and it just never happened...needless to say, we cut that night a lil' short..the next night, I didnt drink anything stronger than diet coke and was able to enjoy the show...I'm not proud of that first night either, not because I did anything stupid or acted like a drunken fool but because I really felt lousy...I guess I'm getting old...I know now that I can't sit at the bar a slam back beers like I used to neutral

How is it you feel?

Hey Orgers -

  1. Do you drink? (alcohol of course) Very rarely, and only certain drinks...but when I do drink, I enjoy it.
  2. If so, do you ever get drunk? Not really. I mean, even when I´m really intoxicated, I try my best not to lose control and it´s like I´m controling myself like a puppet master. lol
  3. If so, what is the MOST drunk/shit-faced you've ever been I got really, really drunk with a couple of Russian and Latvian people in the summer of 1999 or 2000. VERY drunk, but they later told me that they never really noticed it because I kept control and, like a puppet master, tried not to embarrass myself in a foreign country, and it worked. But I did pass out and woke up a day or two later....with a Russian doctor giving me injections and talking to me, telling me that I had drunken WAAAAAY too much alcohol. We were three people and killed a gallon of whiskey, two bottles of champagne, a bottle of vodka, a few beers and I felt really tipsy but tried not to show it.
    1. How long ago? 1999 or 2000. And this spring, but this spring nobody really noticed it and I kept sitting on a stool, saying to myself "Ey dude, you´re drunk...but as long as you manage to stay on this stool and don´t talk any bullshit, it´s all good!" And it was! lol
    2. Did you enjoy it? Kind of . Not the being drunk part but it was an interesting experience. I ´m not really an alcohol type of person though. It makes you age too quickly, is a nerve toxin and it makes you do silly or bad things.
    3. Did you regret it? Not really, because I didn´t embarrass myself and didn´t suffer physically. Of course I had a big hangover but that´s part of the experience I guess.
    4. Would you repeat it? No, why would I ?
  4. Is there an alcohol that you can't stomach because of a bad experience? There is a lot of stuff out there that I simply don´t like and it makes me wonder why people like it so much...for instance whiskey, or old cognac, Hennessy, etc. I own a bottle of some of the very best Absinthe you can find, and I tried to drink it, tried to like it, bought the bottle more than a decade ago but it just tastes disgusting. Like I said above, there are only a few drinks I can really enjoy. I am a bit tipsy while typing this. Had two glasses of raki with good food and good music. Raki should only be consumed with good food and good Turkish music. Or Greek music. wink And I like Havana Club Cuban rum sometimes. I am more of a "summer drinker" than a winter drinker. I´m not really into alcohol.

1.Do You Drink?

I prefer the term "imbibe." wink

2.If so do you ever get drunk?

9/10 if I'm drinking I get drunk or at least get a nice buzz.

3.If So, what's the most drunk/shit-faced you've ever been?

I've had a few incidences where I've been way more drunk than I should be and usually they're accidental. But it's the usual, throwing up, bad motor skills, etc.

3a.How long ago?

The most recent one was a couple weeks ago. I went to hear a buddy play at this cool loft in Nashville and they had an open bar with some great liquor. Unfortunately I forgot to eat dinner and wound up pretty drunk. My walked my girlfriend to her car but on the way there, we both had to use the bathroom and stopped at this bar we both play at to use it, but I always feel guilty going into some place to use the restroom without buying anything so we had another drink there.

She says she dropped me off back at the party but I don't remember that. I remember being in my car on a sidestreet throwing up in the street. I was sitting there with the car on trying to cool off in front of the AC and a cop pulled up and told me (nicely I might add, I don't remember much but I remember him being nice) that I could get a DUI being in the front seat with the car running in that condition, so I shut the car off, tossed the keys in the back window and slept until another cop tapped on the window to make sure I was okay at 6am. First time anything like that's ever happened and it was definitely a wakeup call. razz

3b.Did you enjoy it?

The first part of the night was awesome! I had fun, talked to some great folks and heard some good tunes. The second part, well....you know what happened.

3c.Do you regret it?

No. It was a learning experience and no one got hurt or killed. And I learned that eating dinner before drinking is pretty important. lol

3d.Would you repeat it?

The first part of the night, yes, the second part, not if I can help it.

4.Is there an alcohol that you can't stomach because of a bad experience?

Nope. I've been bitten by a few different alcohols but I ain't shy about it.
