But it might get a lot better, will watch episode 2 tonight at some point. The last seasons did not disappoint with plots getting funny, sickening, and disturbing... all at the same time!

I have to say this is definitely one plot point that I'm finding particularly stupid. The protagonist's power is... a killer vagina!?! Nod to female sexual empowerment notwithstanding, I hope we find out she's endowed with a bit more than that.

That scene had a certain visceral appeal, maybe... but it made her every bit a rapist as well. That fact made me somehow less invested in her character.

It hasn't seemed very scary or disurbing at all to me outside of the opening of the first episode of the new season. It has seemed funny, and silly, and light. That's NOT GOOD. I don't want people cheering, or feeling good. I want to feel dread and horror... maybe even get scared. Also, the acting seems to have gone downhill... maybe it's the direction/editing? Gabourey Sidibe seems like a bad actress too, I don't buy any of her lines or scenes. But, maybe it will get better. right now the various plots suck compared to last season.

Sorry I didn't feel anything for the bastard. What she did didn't bug me at all. As someone who was raped I had no sympathy for him and was also glad when the bus flipped over. I guess because of the stuff that's still going on in the news right now. (google Maryville, MO).

Oh, I certainly felt little for the victim or his frat bros. What jerks. I just thought her becoming a rapist was a bit cheapening.

From a character arc standpoint, too, I wonder where she goes from there. It might have been interesting to see her sink to that level mid-season in the midst of some personal battle between light and dark. But in the very first episode?!? Just seemed too sudden and out of character for the somewhat innocent teen they'd been setting her up to be.

Strange, I thought the first season was more serious in tone because the second season was so crazy (aliens and all). This season is so low intensity that I started to surf the web during episoide two which I still haven't finished. But I'll watch it now. I want to see if it gets better for me.

For me, the aliens storyline was the only crazy aspect. The woman who was committed by her female lover (forced to do so), I had a hard time seeing her tortured and constantly ending up returned to the asylum when you think she finally escaped. And just the injustice of it all--using her homosexuality as a reason to consider her insane, getting raped by a serial killer, making her masturbate while fondling a male inmate...I don't do well with portrayals of cruel injustice, I end up spending too much time imagining myself righting the wrongs lol.

Add the story of the former Nazi experimenting on Chloe Sevigny's character over and over again, with him constantly getting away with it episode after episode...and I wasn't satisfied with his death, either. A character that vile deerves a more satisfying end than him killing himself while holding the body of the woman he loved/obsessed over.

With the first season, at least it had the real estate agent and the burn victim guy as comic relief on a regular basis lol...not to mention Francis Conroy's maid turning into gorgeous seductress whenever the husband was looking at her ...

I do agree that this season is the dullest of the three, so far at least.

Everything Ive seen Gabby in besides Precious she's playing the same smart alect hip talking finger snapping character.

This is the first season Ive watchd of this show and while its got some great actress in it Ive not been impressed and honestly when Stevie Nicks showed up and twirled around in a shaw I remembered why I hate Ryan Murphy and changed the channel.

Well I'll keep watching just for scenes like this...

Yeah, seemed waaaaayyyyyy gratuitous to me... unless she is setting herself up to be raped by the minotaur with plans on using her powers to make Madame LaLaurie feel it. I wonder if that's why she needed LaLaurie's blood.

But I also read that Jessica will retire after this season. She says she wants to go out with a bang.
