M&M's often have holiday themed bags so perhaps they sell a St. Patty's day bag.
Otherwise tell the teacher to go fuck herself. There aren't very mean green m&m's in a bag meaning you will have to buy many, many bags to supply enough for all the kids. I hate how teachers never really think about money or time the parents will have to spend.

Make Rice Krispie (nice spelling, eh? ) treats and add green food coloring to the melted marshmallow... that will make the whole things turn out green.
For St Paddy's we usually just add green dye to our 40s of Mickies... you could do that too! I mean, like, where is the sun?

I don't think the green beer would go over well... broccoli spears would be HEAVEN for me to send, but would make my son feel bad...
So, I will buy a ton of bags of M&Ms and sort through them all to get a good amount in each festive St. Patricks Day bag... Damn her, anyway...

I have had some dumb ass request from my son's school for the holiday parties also. But Lavish's suggestion is a good one, I live in Texas (Houston) and in some of the larger malls with candy stores they have M&M's in bulk of one single color, I bought some purple ones for a friend's b-day present last year, they had white, yellow, red, turquoise, blue, purple, brown, orange, green, and a couple of other colors. But I really think you would have better luck trying a mall candy store.
Good luck to you! And if you aren't able to find all green M&M's, Then I would send the cookies and a note, tactfully written of course...that some of the request made of us as parents are beyond pitiful, and that more thought and consideration should be put into these things. Peace and blessings feel better, feel good, feel wonderful

I went to the mall this morning to look for them sold in bulk, in single colors, and had no luck at all. So, I bought five large bags of them and will be picking out the green ones later this weekend. The school gave me her school e-mail account... this is what I have typed up to send to her. Do you think it's okay?
"Ms. Snyder, I am writing in regards to the note that you sent home with Colin on Thursday, requesting that he bring in green M&Ms for the party on Monday. I called the school this morning and left two messages for you, in an attempt to find out if you really wanted Colin to bring in only green M&Ms. No call back. I also sent a note with him, PINNED to his jacket, asking you to let me know. Again, nothing. I am not sure if you are aware of what a ridiculous request this was that he brings in ONLY green M&Ms. I can understand being festive for St. Patricks Day, however, to request that a child bring in something like this is absurd to me. I do not have the time to go running around trying to find a store that may sell these candies in bulk, or run from store to store to see if they sell them in large bags of green for St. Patricks Day, nor do I have the time to sit and sort through bags of these to pick out the green ones. He will have his green M&Ms with him on Monday for the party. Please, put a little more thought into your requests... I'm certain you thought it was a good idea, but take the time to think about what it is that you are asking."

I think jolly ranchers are a good idea...its better then picking out green M&M's Ahh... but I still have to send along the green M&Ms... and another GREEN ONLY treat. They really can't be serious in expecting me to buy bags of them and pick out enough green ones to share with the class. That is absurd. Not to menchion asinine and recockulous...what you do is buy the M&M and send them to school with a note on them that says you must pick out the green ones cause unlike you I do not have the time to sit and pointlessly count out 25 M&Ms that are only green. Priceless *********************************************

I was thinking of doing that, but I don't want my son to be embarrassed about it, you know? But that thought had crossed my mind more than once. I just asked him what other kids were brining and he told me certain kids were brining green kool-aid and green cookies, so now it's like I HAVE to do it since the other kids must know what he is supposed to bring. Send him to school with something that is green... along with a note to the teacher in a sealed envelope... the note should say the following: "Dear Mrs. *insert teacher's name*, Fuck you for giving me the goddamned M&M assignment and trying to make my kid look like some kind of fucking deadbeat for not bringing them... you will take these fucking cookies and like it or I will come down there, pull your head out of your ass and shove it up the ass of the nearest available vice-principal, you fucking half-witted reject from a retarded village idiots colony. Respectfully yours, Heather" Stop flaming the teacher.

I generally got along well with my teachers, except for one: my high school sophomore English teacher, a rookie fresh out of college. There definitely was some tension between us, and I think it was because my English skills were better than hers. "Those that can't do, teach."
