THOSE FUCKING "TRUTH" COMMERCIALS!!!

Everytime I see those fucking "Truth" ads, I wanna smash the godamn TV. You know, those "in your face" anti smoking ads. I mean why do they waste their time?

Anyone who doesn't know smoking is bad for them must be a damn idiot. According to Darwin, only the strong survive. If you're dumb enough to put poison into your body, then you deserve all you get, and if you go to a bar that's full of smoke, either get out or go somewhere else. The only people I feel bad for are babies who are born to smokers, cuz they have no choice.

They have this huge assault on the tabacco companies, and for what? The tobacco guys are trying to pay their bills just like everyone else. They're making money off of other people's stupidity and weakness. I have no problem with them. And dumping stuffed body bags in front of their buildings isn't gonna do a damn thing but waste a lot of time and money.

But anyway, I'd love to know exactly how many people have quit smoking because of these ads. If even one person quit, I'd be amazed. And it's the arrogance in the ads that really pisses me off, like "ohh wow, look how brilliant these kids are, they are so enlightening." Gimme a friggin break. How exactly are they funded? I hope that crap isn't coming out of my taxes.

F those Truth ads!

Drug dealers have bills to pay too. Should we just leave them alone as well?

I mean, does anyone here feel these ads will make one shred of difference in a smoker's life? It might actually make them wanna smoke more.

Personally I think drugs should be legalized anyway. Let's be away with the weak minded.

You're right. I have a major problem with this, so I say let the tobacco companies go straight to hell.

it's funny. without the tobacco industry's funding (through settlement), there would be no "truth" organization.

Very true.

I actually wrote a letter to those Truth guys and I'm waiting for a response. I really hope I see some of them in the street shooting another ad. I'll bring my tomatoes.

Maybe if they weren't so melodramatic they'd be more effective...it's like those marijuana ads--which are complete exaggerations, so much so that no teenager will respect the message. In fact, lying to your kids about the evils of pot will only cause them to ignore you when it really counts...like crying wolf.

I love those commercails. The one which affected me the most was the last one with the homeless man talking about how they were targeting homeless people and gays.

Then last of all was the baby one. Which baby would they rather have th small one, or the average one..

Yeah. They make "Spin" all bendy.

Although the ads are more designed for smoking prevention than actual help or support for smokers.

Well, I gotta agree with EWM on this one. I personally find the ads rather funny, because they are so melodramatic. Like the drug ads, they really won't deter anyone. By the way, I'm not a smoker, so I'm not personally offended or anything. I just think the ads are rather pointless.

I don't smoke either, in fact, I hate smoking with a passion. But it's the individual's responsibility to make their decisions.

I hate to see these organizations waste so much time and money on bullshit that won't change a fucking thing in this world.
