The great films: The Sessions. The movie did well at the Oscars but didn't get many viewers. It's a sweet film about redemption and getting over the mountain, but at the same time it is smartly adult--it is very sexual, but not childish like so many films.
The film is about a man with polio, who has to be in an iron lung. His one regret was that he is a virgin, so he asks his Priest what to do. He decides to consult a sex surrogate, a woman who actually has sex with the person, but to teach them sexual pleasure, it is not prostitution. Helen Hunt is amazing as the surrogate and her scenes were hard to do. There is loads of nudity, but the film is not about sex but about love. They deal with the man in a smart way, so you do not pity him, you root for him.
The gentleman is great, acting his ass off and is really funny. If you want to see a quirky and moving film, this is one of the greats. All you others say Hell Yea!! | |
