IMO, people and their cell phone addictions are seriously out of control. It's madness! People sleeping with their cell phones, showering with their cell phones, driving and texting at the same time, etc. They can't even take their dog for a walk without chatting or fiddling with their cell phones. It's sad really.

I've witnessed couples (as well as groups of girl friends) sitting at tables in restaurants and no one is talking to one another through the entire meal wacky . They're all on their cell phones texting or chatting.

This is the reason I don't go to the cinema anymore. I wait for the bluray to come out or watch stuff on my Roku.

I only go to the cinema at seriously OFF times and after the movie has been out a couple weeks. Usually matinees on weekdays because there's no one in the theater (no cell phones & no kids). I love to watch movies at home but going to the theater once in awhile is fun too. It's great when the theater is empty. smile

Great minds think alike, buds. I'm with you on this, but the last time I went to a matinee, this old broad sat next to me, and in the middle of the movie her friggin cell phone rang, and that hag answered it and proceeded to hold a conversation. I wanted to knock her upside her stupid head. I finally just moved to another part of the theater.

I saw a man on the TV show Sunday Morning reporting his frustration with cell phones and jerks talking during a movie. He said there is a cinema in Texas called Drafthouse Cinema or something like that where people talking or using cell phones during a movie are promptly thrown out. I wish all theaters would adopt this practice, but I know it would not fly in the hood. Managers would be taking their lives into their own hands. bitchfight or uzi

It really is a sad state of affairs. You can't go anywhere without seeing folks' faces buried in their phones. I went to dinner with two girlfriends and one of them kept her phone in her hand the entire time, which I thought was extremely rude. The next time they asked me to join them for a meal, I promptly made excuses as to why I would not be available. Hell, if you want to text or talk on your phone during a meal, do it by your lonesome. I wouldn't put it past some idiots texting during church services claiming they're talking to God. rolleyes

Wow I saw that too on cbs sunday morning show. I was cheering and yelling in agreement with that theater. I also wish they would implement these laws in all theaters. NC is taking action too: http://abcnews.go.com/US/...id=7103795

Here is the Alamo promo lol : http://fox4kc.com/2012/09...-theaters/

i hate cell phones for this....i have one i carry with me for emergency situations, and that's it. i don't use it other than when i really need to for some reason. my husband has to have an iphone for his job, because his employer requires it. that things annoys us, they never leave him alone. if i had my way, that damn phone would be at the bottom of the sea right now. lol

be kind, be a friend, not a bully.

I only carry my cell for emergency reasons and I'm proud to say that I've never texted (or sexted, razz lol ) in my life. If I have something to say to someone, I'd much rather speak to them or leave them a voice message. But, that's just me. shrug
