New Horror Author?

I'm looking for your assistance.

I love horror fiction. My favourite author was James Herbert but I've read all his novels and don't expect any more soon.

I like Stephen King (but he goes on a bit) and Dean Koontz (although past his prime) but again have read everything by both.

I'm currently coming to the end of Clive Barker's books.

I have tried Peter Straub and and Richard Laymon but I'm not keen.

With all this in mind can anyone suggest another Horror Author for me to try?

Thanks

I just bought "Heart-shaped Box" by Joe Hill (Stephen King's son).
A few of my B&N coworkers were talking about how good he is. One of them described him as "the right amount of creepy". lol

I wanted to read NOS4A2, his latest novel, but I figured I'd read some of his other works first...

On your recommendation I have purchased all his books.

They had better be good.

Only kidding he has been recommended to me before so I thought I'd buy his 1st book, which was a collection of short stories, so I decided to purchase his 1st novel. I then realised there was only one other book in paperback so I bought that as well.

I put no blame on you if they're crap.

I'd love to, however, it may take me a little time to read it.

I'm a little OCD on book reading and I have to read 4 books before I get to that one.
