A-Rod's baseball career likely over as MLB plans to suspend him through end of 2014 season
New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, who has sat out most of this season due to injury, is expected to be suspended through the remainder of this season and all of next season due to his involvement with Biogenesis, a sports medicine outfit which has been accused of supplying A-Rod and several other MLB players with performance enhancing drugs.

The 38 year old infielder to a $250 million dollar contract extension in 2008 and stands to lose $34 million if the suspension is upheld. In addition to A-Rod, Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun has already been suspended through the remainder of this season and will not appeal his suspension due to his involvement with Biogenesis, and up to 12 other players are also expected to be suspended for the remainder of this season. According to sources from MLB, not only did A-Rod receive PED's from Biogenesis but recruited other players to the sports clinic. Worse yet, he is being accused of obstructing MLB's investigation into Biogenesis.
