After thinking about it ... I would have to say my tops would be Heidelberg Germany during one of their "castle in flames" shows ...

I did like ROMA and Greece (acropolis) too and they were right up there ...

Greek islands would be up there too (gotta love hawt nude women for visually stunners)

Colonel Angus may be smelly. colonel angus may be a little rough . but deep down ... Colonel angus is very sweet.

It would have to be the grand canyon. It was mid summer, but on the far side, there was a storm. Our side was bright and sunny. It was weird. That coupled with the grandeur of the canyon itself. Wow.

It made time look as small as an ant. To say feeling insignificant in relation to it is an understatement. I can't even imagine how astronauts feel.

How Nick Woah!-lenda walked accross it is beyond me.

Niagra Falls was cool and all...but it didnt have nuthin on the Canyon.

So far I would have to say the Cenote in Mexico. Apparently they have a lot of them down there but I only got to see a couple. They are spectacular!

The cenotes in Mexico are stunning. Clearest water I've ever seen.

The top of Haleakala in Maui to see the sunrise was the most stunning place I've ever seen with my own eyes. Just magical.

Did you travel here? Tell me what you thought of it. My hubby and I have talked about going, but it's so far and expensive. It's on our bucket list though.

yes.. i spent a week there a few years ago... the second pic is the resort we stayed at, le meridien... over the water bungalow.. all of that

it IS expensive... very

as a said, visiually, it's stunning... as for an experience, it depends what you go for... eg. i got married on a beautiful island in fiji, and the experience with the native fijian people was far warmer... i found the people in tahiti a bit more standoffish... maybe it was just the resort we stayed at... and maybe they were just used to dealing with super rich arseholes all the time... don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad or anything, just not the same as my experience in fiji, where i became friends (for real) with people that worked on the island

but it is STAGGERINGLY beautiful

my advice is if you go, don't sweat the money, or you won't have a good time... when we went my wife had just got a promotion at work and i suggested we celebrate with a holiday... she suggested somewhere tropical, so i booked bora bora to try to blow her away... we're not rich, and i think the holiday cost us around $15k for a week (including airfares from australia, and our dollar wasn't as high then as it is now) but i don't regret it at all

there are far more sensible holidays to have, but you only live once, and it's a special place

hope this helps

thanks a lot for this information. I will defintely keep it for future reference.

I agree that you only live once and if you like to travel, you have to spend some money. We've been to the Hawaiian Islands a few times and really love it, but Bora Bora has always been somewhere we want to see someday.

Montserrat, not too far outside of Barcelona. The hike to the top is absolutely amazing.

And after that, it would be any Greek island.

Seeing London from a plane was the most visually stunning moment of my life, I suppose.

Madeira was interesting, but a bit of a vacation cliché too.

Some pics of the Grand Canyon...but you still can't get get an accurate feeling of the size of it. I took some pics when I was there but they don't do it justice either...only have a few pics on this computer tho. mad

My future daughter-in-law's brother took this when he camped in the GC.

My son and grandson...
