Brand Loyalty

Do y'all get down? I mean, is there a particular brand of shoe, cereal, dildo, bread or beverage that you MUST have?

Like even if a comprable product were available for less, or your favorite maker were out of stock, would you hold out until you got your brand?

For instance I don't put nothing on my feet unless they have 3 Stripes on them (Adidas). For dress shoes, I go Kenneth Cole, as I can't afford Y-3's yet. Nike could make kicks with my favorite colorway, put my face on the mu'fuckas and give 'em to me for free and I won't rock 'em just because, for some reason, I've grown to love Adidas.

I feel like it's become akin to food. I don't eat anything but fish, produce and dairy, but ScienceDAMN! if a big greasy bacon cheeseburger don't sound/smell good to me every now and again.

I know some of y'all will consider me a coorporate whore, but I don't provide a fornication; I'm fresh. So what about you? What brands can you not live without?

Definitely ain't price. Them bitches is high. lol

It is an excellent quality shoe. They last forever and feel great. I have two pair that are over 10 years old and still in great shape.

I used to love Nike until I read about their human rights violations in other countries but i have been so tempted to buy some because they look amaizing.

See, I wonder about HR practices of the btands I support too, but feel too invested to go beyond wondering. confused Chickenshit, I know, but DAMN if I don't have a look that I'm finally cool with.

I have a lot of Michael Kors shoes. His last seems to be almost an exact copy of my foot. If you're going to wear heels, it's very important that they fit well.

Food-wise, I buy only Daisy cottage cheese and sour cream because they have the fewest ingredients - just milk, cream and whatever culture they use for a given product. No fillers or stabilizers. And I buy Sassy Cow milk, cream and half-and-half because they're local.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

True. I love Love LOVE Odwalla's Mo Beta smoothie, but recently found out they were owned by Coca-Cola (maybe just distributed). But it was enough for me to go on a one man boycott. For a month. boxed lol

Camera & video equipment: Canon

I used to have brand loyalty to HP for printers (back in the 90s they made the best printers, laser or inkjet), but I recently bought a laser printer by Canon. I'm tired of HP's equipment breaking down these days. Plus, I hated their injet printers not being easy to refill.

laptop: Apple. I wont' consider anything else.

Running Shoe: Used to be only New Balance, but Nike fits me better. Plus I love their flyknit and Nike Free 5.0 line.

Shampoo: Herberia (online store) bar shampoo, and soaps. Also, I like JASON shampoos. No parabens, all natural essential oil scents, etc.

Other than that, I switch brands alot for experimenting. There's this really great Japanese owned local business here that sells organic shampoos, soaps, and laundry detergent, cheaper than the stuff in the large gorcery stores. They guy actually runs a small farm and factory where they make much of the stuff. I love the gentle nature of his laundry detergent, so I've been buying that a lot.

I think, in general, other than maybe electronics, people should try finding local options. Walmart and the other big box stores can just be plain evil.

I'm tired of HP's equipment breaking down these days. Plus, I hated their injet printers not being easy to refill. Don't really care as long as it's not Samsung.

laptop: Apple. I wont' consider anything else. Same.

Running Shoe: Used to be only New Balance, but Nike fits me better. Plus I love their flyknit and Nike Free 5.0 line. The Brand With The Three Stripes.

Shampoo: Herberia (online store) bar shampoo, and soaps. Also, I like JASON shampoos. No parabens, all natural essential oil scents, etc. Aveda

Agreed about the last part, though I still feel a twinge of guilt about my Starbucks intake. Even though I live in Seattle. shrug

I dont necessarily avoid brands...but i avoid logos.

I only by nike tennis shoes, hanes underwear, nd untill recent budget cuts, levi jeans. Shoes are difficult to avoid the symbology, but i get non-descript models. No one sees my underwear and my crotch is just used to their cut. The 560 levis i habe fit the way i want and arent the same as other brands and cuts ive tried on ..and their logos r usually coveredby a shirt.

I dont enjoy at all, paying to he a walking advertisement for a brand...they wanna put a logo on me...pay me...not me pay you.

I feel the same about my 514's. wink

And I can dig not wanting to be an "ad". Some folks go out their way to advertise, but I'm content with whatever showing (red Levis tab, 3 stripes, the crocodile). I'm tryna get a sponsorship!!! lol

It's a discount grocery store. You know how supermarkets have generic brands? Well Aldi is nothing BUT its own generic brands. The cool thing in the centre of he store there is rotating stock that changes twice weekly. We got our 42" TV there Aldi's Bauhn brand - it's actually a Hitachi on the inside. What I love most is the prices.

Apple for my computers.

Guess for my jeans (Although, I do wear Levis now and then.)

When I drink a soda pop (which is like 10 times a year) it will be coca-cola.

Although, there should be a list of brands you wont wear:

I won't wear Crocs, any buckle jean or any heavy stitched jean, tommy bahama, etc.

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

I love me some nice, earthy, identity-fulfilling kind of clothing brand loyalty. I'm a firm believer in the (admittedly slightly superficial) notion that clothes make people.
