There's no shortcut to being creative. But drugs can give you a different perspective. After pot I would suggest mushrooms, but do it with someone stable who you can trust and be somewhere peaceful My Legacy

what you need is a real crazy lying woman to screw with your head for a few years .. its very addictive, could ruin your entire life forever, but you will probably get some real great tunes out of it, no even a woman can't kill you in the tower of song

Try hugs, not drugs!
Read some books, then let's talk about being "creative"
William S. Burroughs - "Junkie"Hunter S thompson - Pick any of it.
My favorite quote by Hunter,
"Hallucinations are bad enough. But after a while you learn to cope with seeing things like your dead grandmother crawling up your leg with a knife in her teeth. Most acid fanciers can handle this sort of thing. [Edited 7/19/13 22:08pm]

EXACTLY. Everybody I know who's done 'shrooms at a party has had an awful experience, and everyone who's done it in a small group of people they trust has really enjoyed it (myself included). Also, when I first did them I was in Amsterdam, so I was able to buy them at a legit store. The guy working there said that if your trip gets bad, drink something like sweetened juice and it will end the trip. I've heard varying things about the effectiveness of this, but it worked for me. And I see all of your creations as one perfect complex
No one less beautiful Or more special than the next

i do not have a great "history " with drugs ... but .... I will say that I stopped doin drugs - mainly because i kinda realized that it was my "weakness" if i took them ...
much like if i used alcohol and used it to excess ....
i kinda looked within ... and found out that i really dont like myself "high" ...
I acted silly . People would make fun of me . And i thought - why do i need this shit ? Colonel Angus may be smelly. colonel angus may be a little rough . but deep down ... Colonel angus is very sweet.

I've used drugs, so I am not against them. But I think it's safe to say that most people who used drugs DIDN'T become Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles, PFunk, Charlie Parker, Picasso, etc My Legacy

Doing drugs doesn't make an untalented person but that doesn't mean it doesn't make an already talented person more creative. The Beatles were a pop band before their drug experimentation. They were a good pop band but nothing original. Plenty of groups and artists may have been good, but the drugs they took gave them an extra oomph. You can't make talent, but you can push it out.

I partially agree with you. Drugs might have helped the Beatles become what they were, but it also might have been that they grew up and were exposed to new ideas. They had already gone from straight rock and roll to I wanna hold your hand without psychedelics, and that was a leap forward for pop music. My Legacy

They had already gone from straight rock and roll to I wanna hold your hand without psychedelics, and that was a leap forward for pop music. I think George M.'s forward thinking re: recording techniques and sheer experience had more to do with their musical growth than drugs. Multitudes of people blow minds consistently w/o the use of drugs. The subject of this website being one of them. Drugs typically bring more struggle than assistance in this process. I say they help to a degree, but tread lightly and carefully. Heavy use may bring brilliant, yet brief results...and may bring a equally brilliant career to a tragic end, or a drawn out handicapped end. Not to mention the harm to your loved ones that are more than likely going to happen. Cost benifit influencing degree of "investment" in the end.
