For real??? I've never heard of this guy, but, did he really have to come out of the closet? Look at him! You mean to tell me no one knew???

A WORLD Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) star has come out as gay, the first in the industry.

Wrestler Darren Young was speaking to showbiz website TMZ at an airport when he made the revelation.

When asked by the reporter if it was possible for someone to be out in professional wresting, Young reponded: “Absolutely, absolutely! Look at me. I'm a WWE Superstar, and to be honest with you I'm gay. And I'm happy, very happy.

"I don't think it matters, does it matter? Does it matter to you? Does it change what you think about me?

When asked how some in the company might respond to his revelation he said : "You know, to be honest with you, I'm happy with myself.

"Some people might not like it, some people will like it, but I'm here to please myself, I'm here to be happy. It's very important to be happy with myself."

When he was asked whether he could pave the way for others in the industry to come out he said: "I hope so. I'm hoping to be able to make a difference.

"It's very important to me that people understand that someone's sexual preference shouldn't really matter. It should be about the person."

I honestly don't understand the intrigue associated with people "coming out of the closet". Is it really "news"? This seems to happen all the time too. Someone is always coming out of the closet.

I also don't understand the need for people to flaunt their sexuality (one way or the other * gay or straight) in other people's faces. I certainly don't feel the need to run around saying, "I'm proud to be a heterosexual", "heterosexual pride" or hold a parade so I can carry a sign around telling everyone that I'm into men or put a bumper sticker on my car proclaiming my love for testosterone. That's my business and I don't feel the need to tell the world about it.

I doubt it. Orlando Jordan was already openly bisexual and that wasn't enough to save his career in the WWE. And lets not get started by the late Chris Kanyon's homosexuality that may OR may not have been the reason why he was fired from the WWE.
