What To Do With Your Time?

As many of you know, I finally moved out on my own, with my two children, and I have found that I don't know what to do with myself now.

I've done laundry until I'm blue in the face, thinking if I washed everything we owned that would take up my time... I've shopped when I shouldn't have because I need my money... I've even broken down and watched movies more than once, which is something that I NEVER do... I've even ran the dishwasher with two glasses in it just to hit the button and know that after a period of time I can take the glasses out and put them away...

I'm happy... I just don't know what to do with my time, now that it's my own to do with what I please. Any suggestions?

That would be a fantastic idea... if only I were creative! Seriously... I have no idea what to do... especially after the kids go to bed at 7:30. I'm like, "This is great! Now what do I do?" lol

The best thing about this whole thing is feeling no pressure and feeling "alive" and actually seeing myself act and do certain things that used to be me... I'm coming out of my shell... it's sort of neat. smile Now, if I could just find something to do...

Ahh... I cranked up the tunes, but I'm thinking that if I were to get stinkin' drunk I'd realize how alone I am here and then I'd be in worse shape! (When I drink I like to talk and I'm not that great of company!)

Do u like reading?

How about learning a new language? Pick one u never would have thought about learning.

Maybe u could write a book?

Or, if that doesn't grab u, how about spending more time taking walks?

hmmm. this is why housepets are handy. you can yak and yak and yak at them and even though they'll fly away or hide under the couch you know they're listening.

Izzy (my cat) is being a little shit. He seems to have weight lifted off his shoulders since the move. He's crazy in here and he sleeps with me again. I've got good company with him and my kids. smile

My son is funny... he turned into the "man" of the house. It's cute. smile

I love reading and have finished a book since I've been here! (Thanks, Sag).

Good suggestions though... I have started writing many books and maybe I'll have my mom bring them down and work on them. I might just look into learning a new language... I really should do that!

Thanks... smile

At first I thought you were depressed, until you said you feel alive. So since that is the case; just find out whatever it is you really love to do, and take it from there.

Friday I was a complete mess... each day it is getting easier and much better. That's the thing though... I'm not sure what it is that I love to do, since I haven't been allowed to do much for the past ten years. I guess that is what I need to do... find what it is that I enjoy doing and go with it!

nod Find out what it is you're passionate about, pursue it, and you'll feel even more alive.

Learning a language is a good idea, and a lot of fun. Another idea is learning some skill that would help your career or your future career... an evening course or something.

Or you could always get into some videogames smile Great way to waste time, I love it!

I think it's great that you're doing this. nod Take your time and enjoy discovering or rediscovering those things that you love. It won't take long.

Find out what you are really passionate about... what really satisfies the creative urges of your soul...

... and then ignore them, get some Coke out of the fridge and turn on the TV biggrin

Here's an original idea...

How about pissing away all your free time on some kind of website... maybe a fan site related to Prince or something? Maybe you can find with lots of dumb forums and stuff...

You know what, supernova... I can't wait to experience that... feeling completely alive!

It's funny how we allow ourselves to be shut in (I can't really place blame on him as I allowed myself to stay in that situation for as long as I did)... but we shut down and then when we break free, we find and actually see the person that we once were. That excites me... seeing "me" blossom again... it's almost like, "Hey... where have you been!?" But this time I'll be a mixture of who I once was and who I had become... I think it'll be a nice mixture. smile

Life is going to be good (I can't believe I am actually thinking positive here... that's not me!)... and I'm going to find those things and pursue them. Since being out, I've realized how much time I had wasted by being afraid to hurt another by leaving. I don't want to waste any more time.

Thanks... smile

I am definitely going to look into learning another language... that was a great suggestion. Maybe go back to school to learn Spanish again and then maybe another.
