Google Privacy Alert! I got this from another site which I thought I'd share with me fellow orgers:
"I recently went to the Google Watch website and learned about Google setting eternal cookies and retaining a user's web search queries. According to this website, the Google toolbar for Windows IE, when installed, reports back to Google all of a users browsing behavior, not just searches made directly through Google. My next thought on learning this was that Apple's new Safari has "Google built-in to the Toolbar". Does this mean that the latest and greatest browser for Mac users has the greatest invasion of privacy built-in, too? I'd sure like to know the answer to this!" More info here: http://www.google-watch.org/ Wonder if the retained users web searches will be given to the new gov't? The freedom they fight so much for is slowly, slowly slip sliding away...away...away... ooo [This message was edited Wed Mar 12 11:46:02 PST 2003 by FlyingCloudPassenger] | |
