If there isn't a Celebration we all could... I figure if there isn't a Celebration there will be a bunch of us with some extra money and time on our hands.
I may have found the solution! We can honor one of the greatest movies ever made. The "Big Lebowski What-Have-You Fest LINK It is to take place On July 19th in Louisville, Kentucky. In order to save a little money I figure that perhaps we can all crash at BattierBeMyDaddy's house (she will need to ask her Dad first, but I don't think it will be a problem). The Big Lebowski What-Have-You Fest Second Annual - Saturday July 19th, 2003 The date of the Second Annual Big Lebowski What-Have-You Fest is Saturday, July 19th, 2003. It will be held at the AMF Rose Bowl in Louisville, KY from 8 P.M. to 1 A.M. It will include unlimited bowling and free shoes with admission. The price of admission will be announced closer to the date but rest assured it will be a price that the Dude himself would appreciate. Yes, there will be plenty of White Russians and beverages available this year! There will be Lebowski related events such as a dress-as-your-favorite-character contest, bowling contests, farthest travelled contest, Big Lebowski trivia and what-have-you. We have tentative plans for a showing of the movie on Friday night (July 18th) and some kind of informal get together. The Holiday Inn, which is right next door to the bowling alley where the event is, will be the official Lebowski Fest Hotel! They will honor a special "Lebowski Fest" attendee rate of $62/night for up to five people on Friday the 18th and Saturday the 19th. Mention you are attending "Lebowski Fest" and call (502) 454-0451 for reservations. It has an indoor pool, with a bar, video games, etc. and is located right off the interstate and is between a liquor store, 24 hour Steak n' Shake (we will ask them to change their sign to "In and Out Burger" for the weekend), two 24 hour Thornton gas stations and several restaurants. It will be an awesome time! Check back for more info on the event or sign up for the mailing list to find out when new shit has come to light. Does anyone else have any possible ideas on how to fill our collective time if there isn't a celebration? | |
