Mad Men Season 6 Finale.

Loved it.

Team Benson!!!!

Team Peggy!!!!

The season started out really slow but really hit its stride and this was a wonderfully written and acted finale.

p.s the original thread seemed to have died. sad

Yes, I started the original thread a week too late. mad

Pete had every right to be upset with Bob, but at the same time, we all learned you don't treat Bob that way. lol

Questions for season seven:

Will Don still be at SC&P?

Will Peggy take Don's place as creative director?

Will Don and Megan be divorced?

Yes the song was perfect.

Im really surprised that Pete and Ted are going to Cali, I thought for sure the set up was going to be Don and Peggy.

Ive always loved Pete and this season Vincent has really nuanced the character so well that you love to hate him but feel for him in a SMH kinda way.

Glad to see Megan going to Cali also.

I do love that Weiner is being true to his idea that CA is the place to be once the 70's kick in and that NYC becomes a rotten apple. LOL pun.

Honestly Peggy and Ted didnt need to sleep together to get him to realize that he needs to get away from her to save his marriage. I think it would have been better played if he knew he couldnt come back to his family if he actually did the deed.

Oh and my favorite scene was the brothers Campbell putting mother to rest with father to spare expensive legal investigations.

That was a nice closing moment for Pete with his daughter and Trudy. Roger also was shown some mercy being allowed to see the son he had with Joan. I suppose since it was Thanksgiving, the focus on family for the finale was appropriate. Even the look between Don and Sally as they visited the abandoned whorehouse on Thanksgiving where he grew up could fit into that theme--and it was interesting (telling?) that his wife Megan was absent.

Peggy having no family meant her big Thanksgiving finale was all about work. smile

But did you notice her sitting in "The Big Chair", in a pantsuit, mimicking the silhouette of Don??? biggrin

Ooops, sorry I missed that in your original post. sad

I really empathize with Peggy, though. Guys want her but don't want to keep her. And she is smart, funny, cute and seems to be less aggravation than any of the other female characters who always seem to have a mate.

I wonder what's up with that?

I used to love this show, but when the seasons ended, I always missed the premier of the next one and now, I am so many seasons behind, I don't know what's going on. Is it going to continue for more seasons or was this the end of the series entirely?

I hope ex-art director Salvatore Romano can make a guest appearance in the final season. Coincidentally, it will be the year of the Stonewall riots.

I think now that Bob is around, you can kiss any chance of ever seeing Sal again goodbye.
