Walking around talking on speaker phone

You know the people I'm talking about, walking around in stores, on the street with their damn cell phone on speaker. If you have to put the damn phone to your mouth to talk and then the speaker to your ear to hear the other person, what is the purpose? Are they doing it for attention? Is this a nation wide thing?

I use my speaker phone when I'm trying to conduct business, because for some reason you can barely hear professional (or supposedly) people on the phone, even land-lines. BUT I usually go somewhere, secluded and quiet (like my car) to hear the best I can. Now when talking for fun, everybody act like they are at home and talk so dang loud anyway I haven't needed the speaker accessory those times, sometimes I end up holding the phone away from my ear not to bust an eardrum.

Pisses me off.

One of the reason why I despised Nextel phones when they were big.

The thing that pisses me of the most is those that talk and text while on stairs or escalators. Some of these fools actually stop on the stairs to talk/text. WTF?

I was at the Blue Jays game the other day and the guy in front of me texted the entire game. He was there with his wife and kid too. I could've smacked him upside the head. My cellphone was off for the entire game.

My biggest gripe is those fools in the physician's office waiting room. Damn! I just don't understand why folk think the entire room wants to hear your stupid ass, mundane conversation! I don't know how many times I've felt like a complete asshole when I responded to someone sayng, "Hi! How are you?" and I, being the cordial person that I sam, responded, "Fine, thanks. And you?" only to discover they are talking into some blue tooth thing. doh!

This happens in our elevators at work, someone speaking through their bluetooth all of sudden blurts out something and everybody looks at that person like they're cray cray. Waiting rooms and elevators should be quiet environments.

I'm sure they do it because they heard that holding the phone to your ear can give you a brain tumor. Little do they know that you actually have to have a brain to get brain cancer.
