I'll be danged - I watched that movie last night, too! And felt about the same as you did.

Well-made movie, and I just knew Sam Shepard was going to take care of business at the end!

Pacific Rim (2013)

The people were practically cardboard cutouts, but the special effects were very good. star star star

Elysium

2.5/5

More social commentary than sci-fi and then it muddles whatever commentary it was trying to deliver.

Definitely looks like too many hands in the script.

Entertaining but the less you think, the easier it is to enjoy.

I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

 Without doing a spoiler I'll just say I had a strong physical response at the end.

East Of Eden (1955)

Somewhat dated, a little too long, still probably a classic. Dean carries the movie. The scenes featuring him ans Jo Van Fleet as his estranged mother were as good as you'll see. The cast is solid from top to bottom.

Balle dans la tĂȘte (Bullet to the Head) (2012) - A sensitive movie about the trials and tribulations of an American and a Korean trying to function as a team while encountering an endless array of interesting characters.

Oeuvre from director W. Hill, a noted specialist in the male relationships/interactions genre. Stellar performance from lead actors, each of whom has to deal with complex issues relating to family, friends and firearms. I will probably have to watch this a second time to digest all the underlying inequalities in the man vs. man subtext.

Awesome, awesome movie.

Yes. Great plot.

This is also a film that makes me seriously consider cinematography as a profession even though I know nothing about it.

Die Friseuse

Die Friseuse (The Hairdresser) 3/5 I thought it was a cute and amusing grown-ups movie. It might tick some people off I guess for those who get ticked off by these kind of people. I have no idea what country this is in, some European one is all I know.

Finally got around to this and easily a 4/5

pace may seem slow but evrything can be told in the smallest glances, don't come to this film expecting a chase movie as it is far from that...far better then that.

great film, beautifully directed with great preformances.

I'm gonna go watch blues brothers again now

I watched "Playtime" yesterday. Now there is one heck of a choreographed film.
I couldn't take my eyes off it. Stunning.

Come to think of it...

I didn't realize that I'm gravitated toward visual symmetry until you pointed this out. I guess I didn't think about it too much before.

Just saw "The man who knew to little" on tv.

I was surprised that I loved it. Just light and fun entertainment. Good one.

And this docu have I seen a few times now. And I don't understand why this is not a big thing.
I recommend it, but I don't get the impression it got picked up.

It's a Disaster. 3.2/5 I got a few laughs. I'd probably act more like Hedy.
Eight friends meet for their monthly couples brunch. But what starts as an impromptu therapy session/airing of domestic grievances takes a sudden, catastrophic turn when the city falls victim to a mysterious attack. Trapped in the house and unsure of their fates, these seemingly normal people become increasingly unhinged to surprising results.

I've already seen both of these only once and it's been a few years ago so it was kind of like watching a new movie since I forgot chunks of each.

The Prestige. 4/5. More frightening. No real happy ending.

The Illusionist. 4.2/5. More romantic. Happier ending.
