i don't know what the general rule is, but i don't think miss is weird for a mum in her 40s.... and even if i did, who cares... it's about what you're comfortable with

My advice? Get a doctorate degree and then you'll always be "Dr." no matter what!
After a while I got bored being a doctor so I decided to go back to school. Dentistry was my dream. Got all the way through school, got my degree so I was now Fred Dingaling MD DDS. [Edited 6/20/13 8:24am]

I think as long as you are not attempting to deliberately decieve then it shouldn't matter

Well, people say Actor and waiter now as non gender specific terms due to the PC revolution so in line with that and my belief is equality from now on I'll refer to all women as "Mr" If the milk turns out to be sour, I aint the kinda pussy to drink it!

Yes, in that Miss, Ms and Mrs were all short for "Mistress" once upon a time, but Ms was never meant to be short for just Miss (i.e. an unmarried woman).
Ms fell out of fashion and Miss and Mrs were used until about the 70's when the feminist movement said enough with all that hooey when men are all just Mr. Ms was used in the place of Miss and Mrs because it's no one's business. |

Basically. Of course nobody is saying one has to be a pain about it, obsessively correcting people when they say the "wrong" word. But on paper it really shouldn't enter into any decision making or introduction when dealing with any woman, beyond maybe credit purposes.

The general rule after divorce is:
Miss Behave
99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

The general rule is women initiate over 70% of all divorces...often for no other reason than to 'find themselves'.
Time to adapt guys. | |

Men don't give a fuck what title you go by as long as that ass is tight.

Before the bra burners, Miss was used for an unmarried female. Mrs. was used for a married female, and was used even after divorce or the husband's death. My parents divorced when I was 26, but my mom continued using "Mrs." until the day she died.
