The police speculation yesterday was that Lloyd either knew or found out about Hernandez's part in the 2012 double murder, and that was what he was talking about with the two guys at the bar, and that was what set Hernandez off.
So, Hernandez figured he had to kill Lloyd before Lloyd was able to get the story either to the cops, or to another gang that might retaliate against Hernandez.
All speculation of course, but it's a reasonable motive as to why Hernandez would kill Lloyd for talking to two guys.
I wonder if any background investigations are done on pro ballers?
Yes, several teams passed on Hernanadez because of "character issues". There was one anonymous NFL GM that said there was no way his team would have drafted Hernandez - under any condition.
I believe the Patriots said they knew he was a risk, but were hoping he could avoid trouble. |

Yeah, but who could predict he'd get involved in killing? We've seen cats with 'character issues' get busted over drugs, DUIs, spousal abuse, etc., but murder? In all my years of following the NFL, I've never seen this shit (which is different from the Ray Lewis situation). |

Yeah, I don't think anyone can ever predict someone is going to murder or be involved in a murder. But one look at Hernandez sure set my red flags to flying, and apparently those of several NFL GMs.
I absolutely HATE judging people on their looks, but I just have the hardest time reconciling gang (or gang-looking) tattoos to anything other than trouble. |

I suspected that might be the case. Maybe professional sports leagues are gonna have to come up with more strict guidelines or the next thing you know they'll be shooting up the locker rooms.

People want to blame Hernandez's circle of friends for his trouble, but let's face it--the man is a gangsta and a very stupid one at that. This is not the only man involved with him that wound up dead. Police believe that he was involved in a double murder three years prior. He brought this on himself, not his associates, friends, or anybody else. He'll have plenty of time to reflect in jail. "Might as well enjoy the view..." |
