What made your day today?

I believe that it is important to remind oneself of the little joyous details life brings us, and keeping track of the things that make each day worthwhile helps retaining a positive outlook on life and bringing the motivation for the upcoming day.

For me, it was probably having a cup of coffee and a long talk with one of my very best friends, Simon. Hadn't seen him for a while, so it was lovely to catch up and have a couple of proper laughs, like we used to.

So, what made your day today?

That's the spirit! Keep 'em coming, people!

I find it very inspiring to read the details other people cherish. Whereas I often forget to really enjoy food and simply eat because I am hungry, Tina's post reminded me to sit back and enjoy the salad I am going to make right now. nod

@Tina: But I sure hope you didn't download that song illegally! hmph!

Dave, I always pay for my music! I got it off Itunes... I look at it like this, I want musicians to continue making music, If they dont make money they will stop doing it and I couldnt handle that!!

Everyone who works at their job expects a paycheck.. musicians are no different!!

DONT STEAL MUSIC PEOPLE!

Does your 'day' include the night - 'cause I'm still waiting... and the night is but young. Plus I'm a nighthawk, meaning I've barely kicked it in gear yet. Time to do that.

Here in Chicago there is a World Naked Bike Ride, celebration freedom from oil and the beauty of people, from 8pm to 11pm on the lakefront.

Nothing like seeing a 200lb naked man with man boobs on a trike. #Priceless#

I have special shears that I use for sewing. By "special," I mean these shears are only used to cut fabric - never paper (except for pattern tissue) or any other substance. The shears I had are very dull, but I haven't found a place I can count on to sharpen them, so I resigned myself to buying a new pair (to the tune of 50 bucks).

So I went to Joann Fabrics (a place I pretty much loathe, but where they have the brand of shears I prefer) and picked out a pair. Actually, there wasn't much "picking" involved, since the choices are limited when you're a lefty. Anyway...

I got up to the register and the clerk rang them up - $28. Huh? "Are they on sale?" "Not really, just a secret sale for you." Me --> eek --> biggrin

I told her she had made my day. I went straight home and cut out a dress.

If i'd have seen this thread a couple of days ago, my answer would be far more interesting than the answer i'm about to give. lol But today's is pretty good though....

The single thing that made my day TODAY was going dress shopping (for a wedding this saturday) and finding the perfect dress straight away - the first shop I went to, within 5 minutes! I tried it on, and it fit perfectly and looked absolutely gorgeous, and it wasn't mega expensive either.

It was a rare moment.

I can't wait to wear it!
