It kills me how people attack LeBron like he's the most vile player to ever play the game. Just because he had a press conference announcing where he was gonna play and taking advantage of his marketing opportunities half the damn world have lost their mind with hate. lol and it's not that serious. The dude just play basketball for a living. It is terrible on Facebook. lol I just wanted to see James win a couple of titles so people would get a damn life. I'm a Tim Duncan fan to so if the Heat lost this series to the Spurs it wouldn't be the end of the world. Tim Duncan is the classiest guy in the league. Who the hell compares James to Jordan besides Bulls fans(half of whom probably weren't before he arrived). In fact I know a few who cheered the Bulls now are cheering for the Heat now. I don't compare any of today's players to past players. It's pointless but the NBA didn't start with Jordan nor did it end with him.

No. People attack him because his an asshole. Also, while he is a good player he is NO WHERE on Jordans calibar and he doesnt have 7 rings and he ISNT going to get 7 rings. So the comparisions are annoying. The whole Decision shit was bashed because of HOW he did it. STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR HIM. It has nothing to do with him leaving Cleaveland. It was HOW he did it. If he had left Cleaveland in a more classier and mature way he would have not gotten the bash that he did. It shows more about his CHARACTER than about people to be honest.

When are you going to get that through your thick Lebron stan head?

Even MICHAEL JORDAN, CHARLES BARLEY, MAGIC ALL OF THEM SAID THAT WAS NOT COOL WHAT HE DID. Jordan said he would have NEVER did a cop out move like that. He wanted to play against the best players not form a team to win a championship. They said the NBA players are not as talented as the ones back in the day which is why they have to do stupid crap like what Lebron did. THATS WHAT THESE LEGENDS SAID. MJ said he picked KOBE over Lebron. Lebron went on national tv and said where he was going and didnt tell THE HEAD COACH AND THE OWNER. The same people that nurtured him since the very beginning of his league career. YES I think he owed that team and owner a more CLASSIER farewell then making a big ass snobbisg deal about it and not telling them FIRST before airing it all on t.v. Its just the principle in how you do things especially with a team that you had been playing with for almost a decade. I mean c'mon.

And to make matters worse. His ignorant ass made alot of ignorant ass comments since being on Miami. This motherfucker ignorant motherfucker made fun of Dirk Dallas player injury when he got hurt that year he first played on Miami. That year his delusional ass said Miami would win 5 championships in a row lol Lebron was laughing and giggling HIM AND WADE at Dirk when he got injured.. Dirk said Lebron and Wade was ignorant for that and then Dallas t turned around and put their lights out and won the championship. lol James made a bunch ignorant childish remarks win he lost. He said that WE THE PUBLIC are going to go back to our COMMON lives WHILE HE LIVES IN HIS MANSION and go back to his mad mad mad mad mad Talk about a sore loser??? Why not say, I didnt play my best and I will play harder next year? Why bash the public? The public didnt make you lose Lebron. Your ass just chokes and dont know how to finish. So when you say thing like " People hate him because he didnt stay on Cleaveland" its very general and one sided because their are a MILLION things he has done and said that are legitimate reasons why people dont like him. His very immature, his very conceited and snobbish (And cant back up his talk). His not a likable "personality" which is why we dont like him because of the stupid shit he does and says. He is also the KING of the flops

First of all i shouldn't even address the nonsense you've posted here. You go overboard with your haterade when it comes to LeBron James just like you do when it comes to Beyonce threads and i'm not even a Beyonce fan. Just to show how much you're a Johnny Come Lately to the Sports discussions here i'm not a LeBron fan or Miami Heat fan i'm actually a 76ers fan but I enjoy watching LeBron play. The problem with your hate it's life or death for you and it's not even that serious. Last time i checked Jordan won 6 titles not 7. Lebron never said no shit like people are going back to their common lives while he lives in his mansion. You just like many delusional haters put words in his mouth. He simply stated in a nutshell no matter how much you hate him he's gonna go on living his life while these haters have to go back to their lives. Who gives a shit about Dirk Nowitski or the clowns he played with. No one here even talks about that team but you. You cited Charles Barkley as an example of what he would'nt have done what LeBron did. Fuck that is exactly what he did and the difference is Charles whined his way into doing it. How do i know because i'm a 76ers fan. He cried his way out of Philly to Phoenix. Then when the well ran dry in Phoenix he bitched about leaving Phoenix to go play in Houston with his own big three Olajuwon, Drexler/Pippen and he still couldn't win a ring. So how the fuck Barkley has room to say anything to Lebron. That's the difference between asking to be traded(Carmelo Anthony anyone) and Free Agency. Take you a course on Free Agency. You don't owe anyone anything when you're a free agent. Ask the NFL players who leave their teams on a yearly basis if they have to write their previous owner a Dear John letter.

No matter how much people here school you on your delusional bs when it comes to Lebron or Beyonce you just keep the bs going like the energizer bunny rabbit.

Everything phunkdaddy said is gospel truth, especially about Barkley. Lot of these former players have amnesia about some of the shit they pulled. And fuck all this likeable shit. Why should Lebron give a fuck what strangers think? Let the haters hate.

Fuck the Spurs. They tanked a season to get Tim Duncan in the first place.

What does she even have to do with this thread? neutral anywho lol Yall love bringing up irrelevant things in threads but I thought you were better than that. Dont get mad just because I gave LEGITIMATE reasons with why someone may not like him. lol : Stop being a sore loser like Lebron lol . Come on now lets remain like adults and stick to the topic and not pull things out the air just because your mad that people criticize him. I dont have a problem with Lebron but I do think its funny how people dont see why some might have a problem with some of the antics that he has done in the past or the way he has done things that are questionable OR just straight asshole behavior. In these NBA discussions Im really just having fun and not really taking it seriously like YOU obviously are lol Some of the things are exaggerrated and just playful not really that serious. And Im purposely messing with you because YOU do like him lol But its all harmless not serious but ill leave you alone after this because you are the one taking it seriously lol lol

Regardless of what YOU think how big of a deal it is or isnt those are still fair reasons with why someone may or may not like him. When you LOSE a game I dont think its good sportsmanship to make comments like that. I think a mature way of handling a lost game is to say "I didnt play my best game or this is what I could have done better for my team etc" not turn it around and make it about the public which had nothing to do with why they lost. Whether there are a million people against you or not that just doesnt look like good sportsmanship and seems arrogant. Still dont get your bs excuse on him making fun of another players injury which was and is rather childish. mad Also, I didnt say their was anything wrong with him wanting to leave Cleaveland but just HOW he left Alot of those examples you gave those players did not leave in the same way Lebron did. They didnt make a special about it, bragged about it etc. It was rather tacky and he could have left in a less arrogant way and gave a classier farewell to the team that nurtured him. I even know alot of Lebron fans that said that the way he left wasnt cool and could have been done in a better way but Ill leave you alone because I see you cant maturely have a back and forth discussion and I thought you were one of the more rational ones here but I see you are clearly not. No irrelevant bs you bring up can change that You couldnt even give me constructive reasons to defend some of the antics that I described that he has done

People should fuck whoever that doesnt like them but I was just giving reasons with why people dont like him since you said that you didnt get why people didnt like him just for leaving Cleaveland. There are other reasons besides that. Everything is not "hating" when there are legitimate reasons for not liking something. You came in here and brought up him leaving cleaveland. YOU did that. That has nothing to do with this series or why people dont like him now. I just simply responded. lol Did you ever think that people just like the Spurs better and want to see them win another championship??? Its been a while since they gone to the championship. I mean really. Everything doesnt have to be about wanting to see Lebron fail or hating on him like you always make it out to be. The Spurs are actually my favorite team anyway so Im not rooting against Lebron like some others just to see him fail. I just want to see my team win. But to sit here and say why why why people hate Lebron when there are constructive reasons with why some dont like him is being one sided. I dont fucking care about Lebron James and it isnt that serious. lol but Ill leave you to it since in your mind people that criticize him are just "haters" and want to see him fail. So that means nobody cant cricitize him. Whatever.

lol how many rings the spurs got? and the heat?

But really it is a good series... the blow outs were odd... but now it is a best of 3 and the heat had the advantage. And I know (well I hope) all the bickering is in good fun.

What rock have you been living under my little phunkdaddy? lol I've heard this nonsense all season long. There's not doubt Mr. James put up some nice and special stats for this season, if I could have voted Lebron James would've been my MVP pick as well. James during the course of his career has BIG TIME lapses in playing defense and you've seem him fad when he should've been ripping someone throat and/or heart out of them. I don't want to take anything from the Spurs but these large fluctuations swings of points never ever happened when the da Bulls went on their championship run. After MJ and his teammates learned how to get beyond Detroit, Jordan was like a shark who saw blood in the water. NBA didn't start with Jordan but he is the best ever that not an opinion that's a fact. That what has lit a fire under Bryant's butt since forever... he knows who the standard bearer is.

Less not be naive here fans and players have always debated and compared players to be honest fairly and sometimes unfairly. In ever sport there are those players, Babe Ruth, DiMaggio, Williams, Mays, Buckus, Bradshaw, Montana, Payton, Brown, LT, Nicholas,, Hogan, Borg, Navratilova, Williams Sisters, Chamberlien, Russel, Baylor, West Dr. Jay, Bird, Magic..... There are those who set the bar there are those who try to move beyond it.

By the way I'm rooting for the Heat. Besides, what keeps all this going anyways? A little trash talkin'... wink

Your assessment is correct for the most part. Hey if you say Jordan is the best ever there is very little debate to dispute that but it can be disputed. You think Chamberlain and Russell couldn't be in that debate. One guy who doesn't get enough credit as the best ever is Magic Johnson. He single handedly was the spark for bringing a title to the Lakers in 79 as a rookie. This guy put up 42 points in the deciding game as a rookie playing center as a 6'8" guard. You will never ever ever see that happen again not even from LeBron. Forget about who Magic had playing with him(which is the argument sometimes) because the Lakers were Bridesmaids to the Sonics before he came along. The Sonics were on the verge of a Dynasty but Magic put a stop to all that quickly. The guy won NBA titles 2 of his first 3 years. Not bad. Make no mistake about it Magic had that killer instinct too. After the Lakers lost that 7 game series to the Celtics in 1984 dude said it

killed him all offseason and he made sure the Lakers were gonna be champs in 1985.

As for Mr. James i don't have a problem at all with the assessment of his game. Some of the criticisms of his lapses are warranted it's just all the other nonsense that doesn't even have to do with his character or basketball skills that are just useless.

We all good here. biggrin

In other NBA news.....

Word is going fast and furious about Boston Celtics coach Glenn "Doc" Rivers being courted by the Los Angeles Clippers to replace Vinny Del Negro, as well as trade for Kevin Garnett, and "Doc" Rivers has indicated some interest. However, he was signed a couple of years ago to a $21 million contract by the Celtics, and they are refusing to even consider releasing him from his contract unless they get Clippers center DeAndre Jordan. backup point guard Eric Bledsoe, and a first round draft pick as compensation. The Celtics would also look to unload Jason Terry or Courtney Lee in the deal.

Should this potential deal fall through, the Clippers would most likely pursue either former Memphis Grizzlies head coach Lionel Hollins or Indiana Pacers assistant coach Brian Shaw for their head coaching position.

The NBA Finals

Game 5

Miami Heat 104 San Antonio Spurs 114

Though the series was stied at 2-2, one of the reasons San Antonio found themselves in this position was because Manu Ginobili was struggling throughout this series, barely scoring any points off the bench and being beaten badly on defense. Coach Greg Popovich met with Ginobili after game four and gave him a huge pep talk. He also made a bold move and inserted him into the starting lineup for the first time this season.

And the move worked wonders. With Ginobili in the starting lineup, the Spurs lit up the Miami Heat. Ginobili looked like his vintage self, scoring 24 points in the game while also dishing out 10 assists. He also got help from Danny Green, who also scored 24 points while shooting six for 10 from behind the 3 point line. In fact, all the Spurs starters played well, with Tony Parker adding 26 points, Tim Duncan adding 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Kawhi Leonard added 16 points.

The Heat had few answers for the Spurs, as they led the entire game. However, after falling behind by 17 points in the first half, Miami did cut the lead to just one point with three minutes left in the third quarter, but another Spurs run led by Manu Ginobili and Danny Green stretched the lead back to 11 points and they never looked back. Both Lebron James and Dwyane Wade scored 25 points apiece, yet Lebron shot only eight for 22 from the court. Ray Allen added 21 points off the bench.

The Spurs now look to close out this series and claim their fifth NBA title, while the Heat look to defend their home court and extend the series to a seventh game.

San Antonio leads series 3-2.

I've never seen a series like this with so many blowouts. Neither team can put together two solid performances in a row. The 2005 Finals had blowouts, but the last three games were classic.

You have to have an assassin mentality like Jordan, Bird, Isiah, & Kobe. They didn't give a fuck about teammates' hurt feelings. At 'winning time', they were taking over. They wanted the ball in THEIR hands, and they were going to take the opponents' heart by any means necessary, and no mfer was going to stop them. LeBron has done that, he doesn't do it enough. As Danny Green noted, sometimes he stops himself.

2 70-hour breaks (excluding game time) between Games 1 and 2 and Games 4 and 5. There are a lot of old or injured legs on both sides who will really need that rest.

I said this before the series started, and I think the 2d 3-day break made all the difference for Manu.

For me, the MVP of the series is Gregg Popovich. Time and time again he's put Tony Parker in the best position to make plays and his sets have led to dozens of open 3s. He's apparently zoned up LeBron and made him tentative.

If the best player in the game wakes up, though, SanAn is a goner. No guarantee that will happen.

That's very true but it James wants 2, 3, or 4 championships he better learn how to become an assassin. The man ain't nobodies rookie... yet, he "pull up like this" far too often. Even so, I've enjoyed the playoffs and I hope it goes to 7 games.

From what I've seen of Lebron James in these palyoffs, he's more of a big bully type of player than Jordan, Bird, Isaiah & Kobe are/were. By that I mean he makes alot of plays using his massive size more than his massive skills. His skills are above average for sure, but I don't see the magic touch with the fingers that those previously named "assassins" had. You need that finger touch to be the assassin IMO.

Any of those guys you'd not be surprised to see steal the ball and then dribble down court and hit a huge 3 on the run. I don't envision Lebron capable of making plays like that very often at all.

An assassins deft hand is just as important as his killer instinct, if not more so.

Actually, Lebron can do that and has done that at times. His problem is that he doesn't do it enough when it's absolutely necessary, and that's why his reputation as a "choker" still lingers. He still will dish off the ball to Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, or Mario Chalmers, and while Wade used to be able to finish off like an assassin in the past, age and injuries have limited his abilities, and Chalmers still misses too many shots.

The NBA Finals

Game 6

San Antonio Spurs 100 Miami Heat 103 F/OT

The Miami Heat knew if they wanted to extend their season, they would have to come out and play their best basketball of the season. And they came out on fire early, with Mario Chalmers and Mike Miller leading the charge with 3 point shots, and there even was a Shane Battier sighting, as he hit a couple of 3 pointers to give the Heat an early lead in the first half.

But with four minutes remaining in the second quarter, San Antonio went on a run, going on an 11-4 run to take the lead into the half, and they woul extend the lead to 13 points late in the third quarter. Lebron James in particular struggled to score, scoring 12 points on just 3 for 12 shooting in the first three quarters. It appeared as though the Spurs were ready to insert the dagger in Miami's championship hopes.

But then Miami staged a furious comeback. Lebron James himself scored 14 points in the fourth quater while the Heat played some stifiling defense to eventually take the lead with about three minutes left in the game.

But San Antonio refused to go away. Tony Parker struggled mightily in the second half, yet he hit two cruical shots in the closing minutes to put San Antonio up by two points with just 58 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. It appeared that Miami was about to hand the NBA title to the Spurs after Lebron James turned the ball over on a drive and missed a short jumper, and the Spurs took free throws to extend the lead to five points with just 28 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. But Lebron would hit a critical 3 point shot with 20 seconds remaining, and after a Kawhi Leonard free throw, Ray Allen would put up a desperation 3 point shot to tie the game and eventually send the game into overtime.

And it was in the overtime period that the Heat would use their defense to get the lead and hang on for dear life. Chris Bosh made some key blocks down the stretch to keep San Antonio at bay, and he made a huge block in the final 1.9 seconds of overtime on a Danny Green 3 point shot to seal the victory. Lebron James would finish with a triple double, scoring 32 points for the game while grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out 11 assists. Mario Chalmers added 20 points while Dwyane Wade scored 14 points. Tim Duncan led the Spurs with 30 points and grabbed 17 rebounds but was held scoreless in the fourth quarter and overtime periods. Kawhi Leonard added 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while Tony Parker scored 19 points but only six points in the fourth quarter and overtime periods.

The series and season now comes down to one final game, with the winner being crowned NBA Champions.

Series tied at 3-3. whew
