Law enforcement sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ ... based on the information the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. has gathered ... "She wanted attention." One source involved in the case tells us ... her call to a suicide hotline is compelling evidence "she wanted to be saved." The source added, "It makes no sense if you really want to die to call a hotline, where the person on the other end will get an ambulance over to your house."


TMZ broke the story ... Paris used a meat cleaver to cut her arm and took a bunch of Motrin, and our sources say as a result they must classify it as a "suicide attempt." But, as one source put it, "Who takes Motrin to kill themselves? She called the suicide hotline because she wanted the attention and wanted to make sure EMTs got there in time."

I agree but I think its not rational to not acknowledge that her guardians made this OKAY from the get go. They should have NEVER pushed Paris in the spotlight or encourage social networks. NONE of this was going on when Michael was raising her and I think any sane adult is being a little naive if they would blame a 15 year old girl for something that grown adults started in the first place.

Again katherine balked at the social media presence when it first happened, but I'm sure the children kicked up dust, and Katherine being in an advanced, fragile, elderly state, just threw her hands up.

The siblings are not her direct gaurdians, so when Paris rejects chastisement what are they to do? Get married. Go on tour. Do your scandalous TV show. Marilyn Manson is a far better role model than any of the people Paris is currently in contact with. He's a really knowledgable and truth speaking man, if you've ever listened to interviews. I'm glad Paris is seeing the light through all the Holywood fakery.

I just hope she can get over the depression and move forward. It'll be hard.

I'm sorry, but what light is she seeing?

She's a little girl who has just tried to commit suicide - she isn't seeing light, she is very troubled and in a dark place.

She shouldn't be on social media, tweeting about her family and her life, and she shouldn't be recieving messages from a range of MJ fans - most of whom are phycotic and give her a false sense of support and superiority - and trolls.

The only Jackson who tried to discipline her was janet, who tried to take her phone - and rightfully so - but was accused of slapping her because of a security taped - which was obviouslly leaked by the nasty people running MJ's estate and responsible for his death (Sony) - and Paris, as usuall, got her own way becaue the real fake people surrounding her don't want to upset her in case she cuts them off.

Its not quite like that. She has been ENJOYING the limelight, and playing up to the cameras - similar to how every grown-up child star does, because they are now only famous for being famous. Someone should have prevented her from Tweeting and appearing on TV shows and acting. I know of one Jackson who did, but was crucified by the media for doing so - a clever ploy by MJ's estate.
