Depends on the interests of the visitor.
Nice - avoid tourists don't tell anybody - places (lunch, coffee, gin&tonic)
Canal by boat from a friend. Not the commercial boat. Staying a night at the camp site, so we have 2 days for it.

hmmmm probably start with an early morning walk to the local cafe for some Fair Trade. Coffee in hand we cross off a list that I have methodically prepared on some great local garage sales. Great place for finds; some old attics in this town. From here we would meander along the river, wowing at the size of the carp, the numerous birds while enroute to my Art Gallery where we could turn on some tunes, spark a blunt and get lost in the world of art. Maybe even get you painting I'd take you to a local pub for lunch and a pint before taking you to my home where you could lax in a hammock before heading out to the local Italian bistro, where on a wknd night they clear one room, set up with a DJ and play the best music - yes even an obscure Prince or two, if they know I'm there - haha. Drink a little wine, do a little dance. Last stop would be to my 'Secret Bridge'. Just a little tiny one car bridge overlooking the lake on both sides. Couple good rocks to sit on. This is where I go for meteor showers, but tonight we will go to hear the two islands of frogs talk to each other. It is fascinating. One side will go for a minute then stop. Then the other side will go and on anon it goes till the wee hours of the morning. From here I take you back home and wish you a sound and dreamy sleep - or maybe the evening continues hhaha

We'd start our day down lake shore drive to Buckingham Fountain then to Navy Pier to ride the Ferris Wheel, make our way over to the Magnificent Mile for some North Michigan Ave shopping. Pop in at Joe's Crab shack for some King Crab legs. Night fall ~ Starts at House Of Blues to catch a jam session or little jazz at the House of Blues then to the Rain Forest Cafe. Then to Maxwell's for a Jew town polish w/ mustard and grilled onion, or a Pork Chop sandwich to feed all that Don Julio Tequila. Maybe even some sliders from White castles,,, who knows where the Chi may take you!!
Can yall tell I LOVE my town??!! You Can Easily Judge the Character of a Man by How He Treats Those Who Can Do Nothing for Him.

You only need a Dutch ID in some border towns, not in Amsterdam. The main problem are drug tourists coming in on a daily basis from France and Belgium. They are trying to stop that but its not working either. There is a lot more street trade and accompanying crime at the borders now because of it.

You still have White Castle burgers??? Oh man, I used to love those burgers from either WC or Little Tavern. I remember when they were like 15 cents a piece. You could feed a family of 4 for a dollar! Dann, I miss those little burgers! Yeah, yeah, every restaurant and his brother is serving "sliders" now, but they don't have that same taste as the original Little Tavern or White Castle. And don't tell me to buy those frozen WC burgers from the grocery store. They're shit.

He's staying with friends, and they called me in to assist as a guide.
He's leaving Wednesday for a Film summer class in Munich. Such a shame.
When he went along with us to a picknick in the Vondelpark, he said that his friends found it weird that he had not been to a coffee shop yet. While he inhaled.
