It helps to type the name of the movie under the photo in case the image doesn't load--as is the case with the above two--so other people know which movie you're talking about.

I really want to see Frances Ha as well. I was looking forward to Only God Forgives, but the early notices haven't been too positive.

Otherwise:

Pacific Rim

Ain't Them Bodies Saints

A Band Called Death

I completely overlooked the film I'm most looking forward to this year: Sightseers from Ben Wheatley. I really liked his first film (Down Terrace) and I absolutely loved his 2nd one (Kill List) though I thought it didn't quite stick the landing at the end.

Gatsby

Norm MacDonald joke (from Norm MacDonald Live):

"There's a new, 3-D version of The Great Gatsby out. Wow, it was almost like the sober examination of the unrestrained materialism and absent moral center of the Roaring Twenties jumped right out at you!"

Apparently, Blanchett plays a Ruth Madoff-like character. Don't want to know too much about it in advance, though :sticksfingersinhisearsandhums:

Though it's not technically a summer movie. I wanted to see "Mud" this weekend, but didn't make it because it's at theatres that are inconvenient for me to go and nobody else wants to go.

It's getting excellent review but it's just in limited release so it'll probably be gone by the time I make my way to see it.

Dang it, I forgot to think about Norm MacDonald at all! But "The Great Gatsby" was OK, except for the Toby Maguire part.

How a waif like that ever got on a movie screen is beyond me.

However, I will say that Leonardo DiCaprio is a Movie Star with capital letters. That guy was great in that movie. Him and the guy that played Tom Buchanan were good. Everyone else was boring.

Schro, you really should check out Norm's YouTube show! Last night, he started out by telling his sidekick that he was rejecting his comedy of old, to focus on "important" comedy and demonstrated. Hilarious! falloff
