Which thankfully is a temporary thing. whew

The resulting pains in the ass that live with you for 20+ years afterwards, well that's another story. mad

I've just been introduced to the wonderful world of chronic pain. Hurrah.
It sucks that it's something that will now be with me all the time, sometimes WORSE.

Sorry to hear that.

It does get better in due time. Not the chronic pain, but the coping with it.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

back pain?

Yeah, osteoarthritis.
Hurts from sitting, which I do for work. So now I'm all apprehensive about working and I've got a big project coming up which I can't turn down because financially it's amazing, but I will be seeing my doctor about pain relief during the next 6 months for it. I have a kneeling chair which helps a bit.

the advice to me has been to avoid sitting basically sad

I can't really afford one of those $800 chairs offices buy. I have a $300 chair with a lumbar support, it will have to do.

what about medication? you know, legal drugs that basically masquerade the pain for some long hours...

smudges

Have a look at ur diet & increase ur water & calcium, vit D, magnesium, zinc, glucosamine, chondroitin, evening primrose, omega3 intake. Start some chi or qi exercises (tai chi, qigong, yoga (do not exercise in the rain)) & some meditation. keep away from baths & stick to showers. try some massage too (stimulate the chi).

This will help, good luck. wink

Thank you! I think tai chi would be excellent for me nod and I agree that meditation would be something for me to do also although I couldn't do it sitting sad
My diet is exemplary (I follow a clean, almost paleo diet with lots of fats from fish, nuts and vegies. Every meal is at least 50-80% RAW) and I'm very fit (I walk 6km most days, weights 3x week and insanity - modified to low impact)

Will look into evening primrose! (Already doing all the other things smile )

Massage drool my mum is masseusse lurking
