As a critical thinker, skeptic and atheist, I subscribe to idea, made popular by the great Carl Sagan, that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence which is why I've never believed in reincarnation.....until now.

That really is extraordinary. The burden of proof has been met.

eek that looks just like chris!!!! hope he's back.

as to reincarnation: what if we are just sentient photons traveling an infinite architecture of space and infinite possible/probable universes? what if we're nothing more than sparks in reality (though we see ourselves as having mass) and what we experience as 'time passing' is nothing more than our perception of progressive events around us.

maybe in a universe of infinite possibility/probability it's possible for us to determine what becomes of our energy after death. we know that our brainwaves generate measurable energy. we know that on a quantum level our thoughts/intentions effect change. so maybe if we pray for heaven, we go there. if we believe we will be reborn, we are reborn.

anyway a large percentage of the planet's people believe in reincarnation. i wouldn't dismiss it out of hand. not at all

It's a fallacy to give credibility to unproven claims on the basis that lots of poeple believe it. Large percentages of the world's populations believe mutually exclusive claims. Over a billion, Hindus, Muslims and Catholics believe thier religion is the correct one. They can't all be right but they can all be wrong.

I guess reincarnation is a nice belief to have though. I think that motive to believe it probably explains it's popularity.

Hey, you're most welcome. It's a common fallacy to fall into and we're all subject to it but once pointed out it's easy for any rational person to see the false reasoning. wink

After Leo, I took some time out to just float around the universe as rudimentary quantum particles often in two places at the same time. A kind of conscious energy if you will. You'll notice I used the word "quantum". This gives a credibility to my claim as we don't fully understand the quantum world so we can make up whatever hippy, new age pseudoscientific wishful thinking bollox we want, put it in a 50c Chinese made hologram wristband and flog it to morons for $69.95.

I digress but as I said I can be in two places simultaneously.

After that I was Laura Ingles. Ll
