What is the nicest thing someone has done for you? My nephew passed away at 14 in 2002. The principal of the school decided that he should still be part of the graduation ceremony and made a speech about him, saying that all he ever wanted to do while he was ill was come to school. At the end of her speech, she said, had he lived, he would have been valecdictorian, so she made him co-valecdictorian and presented his diploma to my sister. I think it was not only nice of her but a beautifully wonderful thing to do.
The principal was hip hop artist Common's mother and when I met him the next year I told him what his family had done for mine.

I was finishing my dissertation back in 2011, when one of the members of my committee passed away. Dr. M. was a nice man, and I was sorry to hear, but that meant I wasn't going to be able to defend and graduate on time. I was in a panic! On the day of my defense, he took a personal day, took the train to Rutgers, and sat on my committee. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

Someone let me borrow their car for the weekend ...
Well, they didn't let me "borrow" their car, per se', so much as they didn't mind me taking it.
You know, now that I think about it, I think it was a Budget car rental place.
Well, damn...turns out nobody's done shit for me.

there really is too many for me to list here. someone always comes to help me when i think i am at a dead end in my life or a situation. God never leaves me without help, but i have a lack of faith at times.
a wonderful doctor helped nurse my son back to health about 3 or 4 years ago when he had influenza B so bad that he lost the use of his legs, and almost died. she went the extra mile, above and beyond any doctor i've ever seen.
several years ago my husband had to drive a long and winding mountain road, a very dangerous one to get to work. it was thanksgiving morning and they called him into work on his day off. he hit a deer and it wasted the front of our car. we didn't have the $500 deductible for our insurance so that it could be repaired. my husband's boss at the time gave him the money, and when my husband tried to pay him back later, he wouldn't accept it.
all the times my co-workers and my husband's co-workers helped us out at walmart. say what you will and make as many jokes as you'd like about walmart employees. but many of them are some of the kindest and loving people i've ever met in my life. down to earth people that would give their shirt off of their back to help one of their co-workers going through a rough or difficult time.
i could really go and on.....but i don't want to bore you folks. i will just say that i am very blessed and i know it. be kind, be a friend, not a bully.
