This is the best advice. ALWAYS PAY YOURSELF FIRST. I wish I had been more like my parents, thrifty. Sure, it's tempting to go buck wild with your first pay check, but trust, you will thank yourself later if you establish good saving habits.

Another good way to save is to pay cash, and any change left over in coin, put in a piggy bank or coffee can. You'll be surprised how quickly those nickles, quarters and dimes add up. I even pick up change I see on the streets. I'm not too lofty to pick up a penny, dime, nickle. I used to have a neighbor who would routinely throw his loose change on his front lawn, mostly pennies and nickles, but a few dimes and quarters mixed in. When he finally moved, I picked up about $2.50 he had scattered throughout his grass.
