Gunsnhalen Weight Loss Thread

Ok.. i wanted to do this june 1st but i will update it then perhaps.

I know y'all have seen me talking about the gym like a madman in this piece so i am doing a thread showing my progress cause damn it i am proud of myself!!

Maybe it was finally working more... and being happier with life but starting a year ago i started working with my personal trainer and never looked back.

I lost a lot of weight then put it on.. then lost it.. then put it on and last year i went the extra mile and wanted to make my final change.

Here is a low down of the years 2006-2013

2006(i was a lineman in football and about 330)

2007

2008(Around the time i started working out a little more seriously.)

2009(Lost a TON of weight)

2010

2011(Started putting weigth back on sad )

2012(When i got my personal trainer and started working out hardcore)

Also sometime after summer 2012 is when i started body building

2013

Taken THIS Week

So as of today i am 6'5 218 ibs.

I can bench press 225, incline i can do 200 and chest press i can do 240. and still working on getting a lot more muscle on.
I am a beast on stairs

And i can run a mile in 10 minutes and 21 seconds but that is pretty pathetic i need to move that up lol

Anywho for those who read this thread i hope i maybe somehow inspired or entertained you for a few minutes.

I am in the best shape of my life.. working the best job of my life and feeling healthy and happy almost everyday.

Recall my first pic i was 330.. i was a lard ass i mean as big as can be and i beat the odds! so i know anybody can.

smile

At this point i am all about gaining. I still do cardio like a madman cause i am trying to get that last little bit of stomach off.

But otherwise i am more focused on gaining and toning up every part of my body! my legs have gotten so much more muscle but are still pretty big so those i have the biggest battles with.

Also since i am building more i am getting those stretch marks on the arms nuts

What is good for stretch marks? i use vitamin e oil, aloe vera & coco butter.

Keep it up. nod I'm also trying to lose some unneeded weight. I have lost some of it through walking every day (or every other day), occasionally doing pushups and situps and only eating a meal a day. Two meals can be too much sometimes.

Unfortunately I'm still in the "learning" stage of this stuff (after 3 damn years) but from what I've read, I think you have to either lose weight and then bulk up, or bulk up and then shred...but I don't think you can do both at the same time.

Check this site out;

They want you to sign up for their training course (for a fee) but if you join tghe mailing list they send you frequent tips & stuff.

Also lots of orgers on here have good tips as well...UptownNY has a site that he highly recommends (and unlike me, he actually knows what he's doing lol )

Well not to sound 'cliche'' but every body is different and luckily i can put on muscle fast. I do a lot of cardio but i started cutting back on it as i don't wanna lose muscle in the process.

I also take supplements that help you gain muscle, lose weight, and also not lose any muscle in the process biggrin

I am not the be all end all expert but if you ever want a little extra help i would glad to share anything i know.

And between my trainor and the internet i have studies supplements like crazy!(I currently take vitamin A,D,E,B-12,B-6,D ETC And i also take CLA, Whey protein, and an multi-vitamin as well as Cayenne pepperand cinnamon)

I have gone to GNC before and i have known more than the guy working there -.- which is dissapointing when you actually need help with something.

Yup! and being with my trainer for awhile helps cause we decide which muscle groups to hit for the day.

I do cardio everyday but usually not as much on lifting days. And days when i don't lift i do a lot harder and more intense cardio.

i'm going to throw some advice out there which you can take or leave

if you're really serious about putting on muscle mass, you need to have rest days... that includes skipping the heavy cardio... overtraining is very common, but it will slow your progress

the other thing is to continue to shock your body... i'm sure you know that how this all works is by damaging (breaking down etc) the muscle fibres, and when they repair themselves, your muscles grow.... so change your routine up.... i'd do things like go to the gym one day and do nothing but bench press ... i'd absolutely cane my chest for the whole time i was there.... then next time i'd go back to whatever routine i was doing at the time... mix it up... it keeps your workouts fresh too

the thing is all our bodies react differently... it's really important to get to know your own, and figure out what works for you... you can write your own routines then

personal trainers are great... i'm sure he or she has helped you a lot, and will coninue to do so regarding your fitness... but if you're really serious about putting on a lot of muscle, i'd suggest you read a lot, and take matters into your own hands

what you've achieved already is great ... i tip my hat to you

but don't be afraid to have rest days!... trust me man... it will help

Oh I know:) it's taken me awhile but I'm starting to slowly have rest days. This weekend I worked in San Diego and didn't workout Saturday but did Sunday. It's a slow process but I am trying to have some rest days so I can build more and also not be tired at work.

Ok, so i got this new trainer recently cause sadly my old trainer got another job with a modeling agency sad

And this nee trainer is fuckign amazing! i mean i like being pushed and this guy... holy shit eek

After being able to do the stairs for an hour and a half and the leg presses my legs are rarely soar but this dude was makign me do thing's with my legs i never thought a 6'5 man could do!

And when we lift he doesn't let me stop and he just keeps putting more weight on and i HAVE to do it unless i'm dying lol

So far he is pushing me the farthest and i like it cool

I also have been going a little easier on cardio! instead of having intense long cradio sessions lke 5-6 days a week i only do it maybe 3 times a week. Don't wanna lose muscle after working so hard to get it smile

I will update at the end of june my progress!

Very, very cool! thumbs up!

I just started exercising again after 3 months of doing nothing. Can't lift fuck all but I look ok, not thin, not fat. I can build up strength within a couple of months. My problem is cardio. All last year I sat in a Thai prison smoking filterless roll-ups and wasting away. I skipped rope yesterday and damn near died, had a headaches and pain in my face (WTF! lol). It's going to be a long road back to being properly fit again!

Well done. You're looking great. smile
