The doll was made by an artist. I think there's only one. He makes all the outfits and photographs them. |

They are really well done and I especially love the one in the PR sunglasses, but this is one of those things I would not buy for myself. I'd love it as a gift though. I'm firmly planted in denial |

I am sooo out of the loop. What has Prince had to say about the doll? How did he find out about it?

Me either. I'm thinking the reason Prince took action was for monetary reasons. He's paranoid with anybody taking advantage of his image and using it in any way. It does seem douchey for some but I can understand why he did that. That said, yeah good artwork. | |

I bought a calendar from Troy Gua, the designer of that doll before he was shut down by The Paisley Suit, it's quality work. He was selling t-shirts with the doll's image and that is what got him into trouble. I don't know for sure but had he not named it Le Petit Prince and did his work under another title with just the poseable doll, he'd be in the clear. I'd hoped Troy would do album cover knockoffs, but he never did. I'd have bought one of those for myself. I'd only buy the doll as a gift, though. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

The artist who created the dolls is talented, but if he is a fan, he should have known better than to think his highness would ever sanction this. He is such a control freak about his image and such, any person with just a rudimentary knowledge of Prince's ideosyncracies would know not to even attemp anything that bears his image and profiting. HE only wants to get paid and doesn't want anyone else making money off his image or name. | |
