i have had up to 15 in my ears...i'm down to seven and have my navel pierced..am thinking about getting a small chip for my nose and have always thought the whole nipple thing is very sexy...however my boyfriend does not

I first got my ears pierced when I was 6. My Grandad led me into his kitchen sat me on the table and pierced my ears while my mum was upstairs looking after my sick Grandma. She knew nothing about it and freaked when she saw me!

He did it the traditional way..ice cubes and a needle..he was a jeweler so did this professionally too.


He also pierced them again about 20 years later for me..in the kitchen again lol!


So I got 2 piercings in each lobe and two piercings in the cartilage of my right ear.

I got my eyebrow done many, many years ago before it became popular...and everyone in town had to look twice at me cos nobody else had it done.


Now I just wear 1 pair of earrings in my ear lobes and one tiny one in my cartilage. All others are OUT!!!

I had it done tonight at Metamorphosis in the Broad Ripple neighborhood of Indianapolis. The piercer did it "freehand" (i.e., no clamp) with a piercing needle. I'm very pleased with the results.

Now I've got one ring in each lobe--I'm balanced.

My nipple piercings have been archived for history.

Currently, 6 holes in my ear lobes, right tragus, both nipples and my belly button.

Used to have my nose, left tragus, and a quarter industrial in my left ear (if you don't know, that's a barbell that goes through the cartilage two places across your ear).

I had three pierce holes in my left ear, but stopped wearing earrings in '95 or '96... I'm sure they'd open up again though, but now, I'd just look silly. I've always wanted to pierce my nipple... still, might. I also want a tat on my left arm. (old man voice) One of these days...

Multiple piercings in ears thru the years

Navel self pierced in 1992,1993 and 1994 ( always healed and pushed hoop or stud out)

Left nip self pierced in 1993, still lookin' good

Self designed sun tattoo on back 1995, self tattoed tattoo on left ankle (now these, folks, are truly addictive)

I pierced a girl friend's navel once.

I blame that Aerosmith video with Alicia Silverstone, along with the fact that women are much more likely than men to wear shirts that expose the midriff. I've read old posts from the rec.arts.bodyart newsgroup suggesting that back in the "olden days," when piercing was an underground thing, the navel piercing was definitely considered a unisex piercing.

Anyway, I've never noticed any correlation between male navel piercings and being gay. I think that has about as much validity as the old assumption that a man wearing an earring (or anything more than one in the left ear) is gay.

Back in 1995, when I had my navel pierced, I only knew of one other male who had one: Dennis Rodman. Since then, I've seen more men sporting them, and I doubt that any (professional) body piercing studio is going to blink if a man walks in and asks for a navel piercing. In retrospect, I like to think that I was ahead of the curve.

I don't care if someone thinks that I'm gay ("Not that there's anything wrong with that!"--Jerry Seinfeld) because I have a navel ring, drive a Miata, or whatever. Life is too short to worry about things like that.

Incidentally, I think the navel is a nice introduction to piercing beyond the standard earlobe pierce. I found it to be nearly painless, and it's easily hidden under clothes. Granted, it has a reputation for being tricky to heal, but I followed the aftecare instructions religiously and experienced no problems.

Glad you like it. That's basically what Josh (my hairstylist) does with it... during the week I neatly comb and part it for work, but since it's the weekend, I figured I'd save myself the trouble. Apply some TIGI Bed Head Manipulator, run my fingers back through my hair, and it's done.
