After I got my tattoo, I got more into the whole body art thing. Piercings always seemed more taboo even though at first they seem less permanent. Somehow I think it the more invasive aspect that gets to me. Anyway, I wanted a new tattoo, but decided to go for a piercing.

My decision was made but the question was, as for most people, “What and Where”.

Anything on show was ruled out by my line of work. This left me with nips, navel or the genital selection. No offence to those of you gents with nipple piercing but I never though this would be sufficient, seemed a bit unsatisfactory (for want of a better term) and as for navel, well, same really. So I was left with the genital options. After much deliberation it came down to two options, the dydoe and the frenum. Went into the local piercing studio (like you do) and after a brief conversation with my be-pierced fellow opted for both.

omg but well worth it. If any of you are interested then I will explain further, keep posting.

I used to have 2 in my eyebrow...it doesn't hurt. I don't really like the eyebrow anymore though, I think it kinda looks...well...dumb neutral

Sorry, just my opinion.

Never considered a labia or clitoris piercing? Excuse my directness.

No, never really wanted any. If I were to do something it would be labia, I don't want any needles going through my love nugget. Who knows what the long term effects are. I'm not messing with that...

Labia would be good, although the benefits of glandular peircings should not be scoffed at. You are certainly not unacustomed to the pain.

Pain? What pain? lol

Actually the only piercing that hurt was my lip. The guy went too slow. And it still didn't really bother me. I have a high tolerance for "pain" I guess.

That’s it, blank out the pain.

You’re right, it's not pain it is something else I am yet to define. It is true Men do have a lower pain threshold, but pushing a needle through your penis (no matter how fast or slow) fucking hurts! Not that I was surprised, but the pain is really quick then it was gone. Sooo worth it, and the lady thinks so too.

I have no sources for this off the top of my head, but it has been proven that females have a higher tolerance for pain.

Love piercings, but don't have many. Just my regular ear piercings and my right tragus. I was going to have my left one done after the right healed, but I didn't think when I got it about how hard it would be to use a stethascope or certain types of headphones.

I want my husband to do his navel. But he's a wuss.

Have you seen the Bjork vid for Pagan Poetry? Oh, it's so gorgeous.

Nat! I had my nose pierced about two years ago, but I went on holiday and with the extremely hot weather it started to annoy me, so I took the piercing out, and the hole closed up really quickly (It was about a week old)

I want to have it done again, as I loved it! Did you get yours pierced with a needle or a gun? The lady who did mine used one of those guns that you use on ears, but I heard this is not good way to do it.

omfg Lleena the lady who pierced your nose is a retard! You NEVER use those guns unless it's your ears. disbelief Please, PLEASE go to someone else! I won't want to kiss you if your nose is a mess!

I know confused I had never had it done before and was pretty naive about the whole procedure. Afterwards somebody told me that she was suppposed to use a needle. Luckily it looks fine and the mark has faded. I will definately get it done again, properly this time.

kiss You will want to kiss me then!

My exboyfriends roommate once went to this shady club in Providence and had his whole face pierced with a gun. His eyebrows, his nose, his lip and even his nipples. He's obviously a moron, not only because he got pierced like that but because it was at Club BabyHead!!! If any of you are from the Providence area you'll agree!

Lleena if you promise not to go back to her I'll kiss you!

Guns are ONLY supposed to be used on earlobes... that's what they are designed for. They are very blunt and use a lot of brute force and pressure so they can actually crack your cartilage!

ONLY needles should be used on anything other than lobes.

ONLY NEEDLES

NEEDLES ONLY

kay? mr.green

Needless to say, I got my nostril done with a needle. It was a great experience. The most distracting part was getting used to constantly seeing a sparkle out of the corner of my eye, and feeling like there was always a booger in my nose.

confused

I got used to it after a few days though.

Personally, I wouldn't even get a "gunned" earlobe piercing. The guns can't be sterilized in an autoclave (they're plastic, so they'd melt), and the piercing studs used in the gun aren't as sharp as a piercing needle. I'd recommend sticking with a professional body piercer and the "needle method" for all piercings, even a standard lobe pierce.

Navel, ears and i used to have a piercing in my toungue, but the clicks it made when hitting other parts of my mouth were audible when i was recording music...so I took it out. I have one tattoo an asian style dragon similar to my avatar. It is on my lower back...next is a tiger on my lower abdomen.
