Fruit is my favourite food. Especially sharon fruit. Oh, how I love sharon fruit! They're not in season now, so I'll have to wait till our next winter. They get imported to the UK from SE Asia.

I like a salad mixed with different greens, cheese, raisins, tomatoes and other veggies. I like to try different dressings. I tried raspberry walnut the other day, it is delish.

Kenepas!!! foodnow

In Honduras they're called Mamones (because you suck on them).

I had no clue that they call them "Spanish Limes". That's misleading.

When they're in season, the Hispanic grocery stores around here carry them. woot!

I have never had a Persimmon. I've seen them in the store. What's it taste like?

Also...I saw Dragonfruit at an Indian supermarket once...what does THAT taste like? (Anyone?)

Persimmon is like mango/peach but still unique... it is my absolute favorite flavor of fruit. I get sneaky and keep them from my kids when I have them. OMG they are divine!

Warning: Persimmon must be eaten when they are mushy and the skin gives when handled... because the astringent variety will give you an extreme case of cotton mouth if the fruit isn't fully ripened. So buy and eat the squishy ones that you think need to be thrown out... that is when they are good to eat.

biggrin

Now how couldn't I mention

Carne Asada Chips followed by

Carne Asada Fries. Okay it's miles away from gourmet but it's gooood.

I don't know what the heck they've done to pork, years ago I was crazy about Carnitas and then the taste of pork changed :bleh: I hardly ever touch the stuff anymore.

veggies

Green Beans w/potatoes.

green beans with slivered almonds (has to be slivered)

peas & corn (no carrots, love them but not here)

bok choy
