In the past few years there's been a few mass shootings in the Seattle area.

More gun violence, more gun deaths.

PHOTO: Police are on the scene of a shooting, at an apartment complex in Federal Way, Wash., April 22, 2013.

Five people were killed Sunday night after a Seattle-area man shot his girlfriend and then confronted and killed three others who'd tried to stop him during a shooting spree. The gunman died in the subsequent confrontation with police.

Police in Federal Way, Wash., said today that a 27-year-old man with a history of domestic violence used a handgun to shoot and kill his 24-year-old girlfriend, setting off a flurry of 911 calls from the apartment complex and drawing individuals out to see what was happening, according to Brian Wilson, chief of the Federal Way Police Department.

Police did not release the names of the suspect or victims of his gunfire but said that it appeared the alleged killing stemmed from domestic conflict.

When the suspect left his apartment, he was confronted by two men in the parking lot of the complex, Wilson said at a press conference today.

The suspect shot and killed both men, and then went back to his apartment to retrieve a shotgun, Wilson said.

The men were 23 years old and 47 years old. Police are still investigating what was said during the confrontation and whether the suspect knew the victims, Wilson said.

Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.

Yes.

Hell, the news hardly ever covers the shootings/murders that happen in the area I live in. Mostly

because the people being killed are "criminals," and not worth the media attention.

Oh believe me: it does. The media just picks and chooses what it wants to report to the national public... but if you pick up your local paper, you may discover any type of murder, shootout, or whatever, happens every other week.

Theyre blowing things up to put you in fear, using the media.

When the media is how you get your source of info it becomes what dictates your reality.

yeahthat That's why I say the media picks and chooses. The media is not really always a great toll when it comes to reporting news like that. Yeah they say we use entertainment to distract but they use distractions too.

Not to step on anyones toes, but I don't get the attitude towards guns in the USA. Not at all.

More people died from gun fire than in all wars combined. And the USA is always at war somewhere.

I used to live in a city where the only murders that made the papers were the ones where 3 or more died.

Yeah. It seems like the more deaths the more it makes it to the papers...
