The ear/nose/lip plates didn't damage organs or deform skeletal structure to the point of disability like neck rings or foot binding.

Although I'd argue this corsetry is part of no cultural heritage and why do this to yourself if you don't have to. It's more extreme fetishism like those who want to be amputees and that guy that injected his nutsack until it was as big as a basketball.
