I loved the greatest movie ever sold.

Don't know if I want to see the one on the Dolphins. I don't want to trow myself in a depression.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Let me know if the viewing links work okay for you on the docs I listed. I would have posted even more, but I was pressed for time on a laptop that's trying to kick me in the butt lol

You a deep interest in women's issues, no? I was just thinking of a few more ... hmmm

An episode of Ms. Marple, Alain de Botton on Status Anxiety, whilst feeling sorry for myself that Londonboy doesn't love me.

Okay, here's some more! Maybe you will watch one if you get an "itch" for a documentary again- and they will keep you from thinking about old Londonboy smile

Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel

Ooooooh...I'll have to check that out!

Also in the fashion vein...

The September Issue (about Vogue magazine)

Valentino: The Last Emperor

Unzipped (about Isaac Mizrahi)

5 Avenue Marceau, 75116 Paris (about Yves Saint Laurent)

I forgot to post this one:

Pina - A tribute to the late German choreographer, Pina Bausch, as her dancers perform her most famous creations. It was filmed in 3D and looked fantastic in the cinema. 4.5/5

Pina was great. The Woody doc was more interesting than I was expecting, too.

Searching For Sugar Man is addmitedly epic (and I saw dude live this last weekend cool ), but my favorite of last years nominated docs was Five Broken Cameras.

Sexy Baby is a must watch if you have daughters/children (with them, imo).

Other than what has been mentioned in this thread (some great recommendations), a recent favorite for me would be The Queen of Versailles.

I just watched Mission To Lars last week. Highly recommended.

Side By Side. Great if you like behind the scenes/history of movies stuff.

Chimpanzee.

Birders: The Central Park Effect.

Speaking of aliens, does anyone remember Erich von Daniken? lol

he's a regular on ancient aliens as it was him that started it all with his book chariot of the gods, of which we are reminded at least 17 times each and every episode, and last weeks episode was another one dedicted to him and his book, about the third or fourth they've done. there is a documentary from the 70s which was the predecessor to the show that's interesting too, but doesn't have as flashy visuals or re-eneacments

this week they were trying to say how could vikings travel about in boots to far away places when no-one else was doing it (like how could they know what happened in them days), so of course they had to have ancient alien technology. one of them obviouly watched the marvel thor movie and thought the space bits must mean that real aliens helped real vikings as they had a bit on thors hammer, which i'm sure you can guess, is based on alien technology

one other documentary i should have mentioned was the sound city one by dave grohl, that's excellent

Once I was reading one of his books and on the inside sleeve was an expression of interest for an alien theme park or something that was being built in Switzerland. I send away for it, and months later all I got (instead of the hilarious prospectus I was expecting) was an invitation to his alien club mad

I'm the mistake you wanna make

Don't you love the way von Daniken dismisses the ingenuity and accomplishments of ancient people? razz

I have a strange thing with Pina.

I know everybody loves it.

But I somehow, don't feel like seeing it.

Strange, because I do love dance.

I will get myself to see it.
