Dynasty lol

If they can bring back Dallas, why can't they bring back Dynasty, which was a better show anyway? Yes,I know that John Forsythe is no longer with us,but I think the show could still go on.The show could actually begin with Blake's funeral.Krystle has inherited all his money and his company, which (as expected) doesn't sit well with Alexis.Let the catfights and drama begin! lol Blake and Krystle's daughter is all grown up now,so she could be a major character now.

Good one exclaim

Magnum PI....though I doubt that it´d work with different actors

Kung Fu....but this time with a real Asian actor. Carradine was good but what they did to Bruce Lee was unfair. It´s nice to see that America has changed regarding the portrayal of stereotypical Asians in the media.

Yes..Kung Foo is a kick ass hottie that's actually Asian nod

and having just finished Magnum PI with no cool 80's detective show to get my fix off of anywhere in sight... how I would LOVE a new one...

..but it couldn't work without Higgins (John Hillerman) sad

They can't Bring back Dynasty because Alexis & Krystal don't get along in real life. Alexis is open to talking about it. That's why she was barely seen during the shows last years on the air. You have to bring back the old cast to carry the Next Generation..A SMART Producer will say "No Alexis to carry the show at least half-way through the season means NO Dynasty which means a reboot is Dead".

The ONLY Primetime show I wanna see rebooted is "The Wire"....The Emmys SLEPT on that tough-as-nails Drama...

They've made up since and have done press together for Dynasty retrospectives...they could be more open to it at this stage in there lives...providing it was a vehicle that made actual sense where the writing was concerned. By the time Dynasty got to the Moldavian Massacre storyline everybody was pissed.

Dynasty could work if they brought in Heather Lockhart to be the Villianess. But Dynasty was so much bout the 80's and the excess of materialism I don't know if it would play todays audience.

But maybe it could. If you look at the bulk of what's succeeding on television today, particularly with reality shows- it's all about material excess: designer clothing, accessory trinkets, homes, running businesses, nightlife and so on...

It seems audiences love a good "floss" show, and you probably can thank that damned Housewife phenomenon and the 10,000 Kardashian shows and their spin-offs for that. Just stick some pretty, but big hipped Armenian girls and OC trouble making wives into the mix- with some used up social register former-ladies-who-lunch hanging on to their pedigree by the thinnest thread, and we could come up with a new Dynasty today's viewing audience can relate to ...oh.... and throw in a fashion industry personality and music mogul to top it off, et voilá! Or something like that lol

Miami Vice - Thanks to the successful redo of Dallas, Miami Vice could feature a new generation of cops while catering to a more diverse audience. Meanwhile, Sonny Crockett (Don Johnson) would be chief of police at the Miami-Dade Police Department, Ricardo Tubbs (Phillip Michael Thomas) would be the mayor of Miami, and Martin Castillo (Edward James Olmos) would be a congressman looking to bring down an evil drug trafficking cartel

hmmm That actually doesn't sound like too shabby an idea nod !

"Today's Audience"?....Did you really type that? All the Viewers got today is Snookie, Duck Dynasty, Honey Boo-Boo and Donald Trump....So you're RIGHT...LOL...

Don't forget the kardashians

For real. How much more vapid and materialistic with a Babylonian mentality can you get ? lol

Plus, I saw an episode once where Kourtney's boyfriend played a joke on the mother/manager Kris, saying that he wanted to manage the two youngest sisters' career: the mother fell for it, and there was an entirely different side to her personality as a cut throat business woman that resembled something like a blood-thirsty jackel. She made Alexis Colby look like f**king Shirley Temple...and she struck me as someone whom it is not wise to have hold grudge against you lol

Op's question answers another question:

"Why are there less and less people who watch tv?"

Tv shows do well when people, who are living in the now, can relate to it.

It the writers can't come up with a better plan than make over old successes,

than they don't know their craft.

I don't like to eat 10-year old bread that is warmed up again.

IMO The Wire is so brilliant because the writers did not go for easy writing tricks.

If a writer/producer can create something that people can relate to, the show will sell.

If it's an inuninspiring remake of an old show, it's going to be reviewed as lame.

Write a show on a girl who treats men as if they are reasonable adults.

And who refuses to assume that he will change.

A woman who thinks men are as good as she is.
So, she will not let him get away with excuses.

She will let him experience the consequences of his own behavior.

A serie that is not based on joking about females.

But is based on joking about those who are in power; the males.

Orgnote me for material. I have loads.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

And a show where every episode stands on it's own.

Can't be bothered with shows that I need to adjust my schedule to.

Only the Wire was worth that. So, I saw the dvd's

A new version of lost in space would be cool. They did make a pilot called the Robbinson's for the WB (or was it UPN or CW, one of those) but didn't pick it up.

Reaper [I never missed an episode. I loved this show & I wish it was still on!]

V [The show had MAD potential. It really didn't even get started....I really wish it was still on too]

Double Dare [Especially Family Double Dare. So, that way, when I have a family of my own one day, we could go on there together biggrin heart ]

Most of the old Nickelodeon shows, period!

The Maxx

Aeon Flux

Flight Of The Conchords

The Wire [I truly wish it was still on....as long as the writing stayed as good.]

Seinfeld [Yup, that show is Hilarious!]

How To Make It In America [This show had potential, but it just wasn't given the chance it deserved.]

Kenan & Kel [hey, one can wish....... lol ]

Twin Peaks

Tales From The Dark Side, Monsters, Tales From The Crypt, The Night Gallery [All of these shows will always be part of my childhood & if they were brought back, with great stories, it would be dope. But I highly doubt it would EVER happen......& if it did, It would NEVER stick & these shows would most likely suck neutral ]

That's all I can think up right now..... lol

الحيوان النادلة ((((|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|̲̅̅=̲̅̅|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|)))) ...AND THAT'S THE WAY THE "TITTY" MILKS IT!

SG-U and Atlantis. They both feel unfinished. Dead like me. Pushing up daises. I don't like remakes of older shows too much. Maybe a What happened to Eight is enough.

Do they do Gimme a Break re-runs at all in the States? I just discovered 'round about Christmas time that they have some episodes I could watch on youtube- they were great and I love the whole nostalgia factor. smile

I was recently trying to find that show online when I was having a "family drama" nostalgia fit. Couldn't find any episodes, though, so I settled for some clips of "My Three Sons" and "A Family Affair" instead. Now that you mentioned it, I am kinda curious about what happened to Eight is Enough lol
