Report: J.Lo loses big gig thanks to diva demands

The singer wanted a private plane and a slew of hotel rooms to house her assistant army.

Diva demands do more than inspire incredulous groans and eye rolls, it seems. They can also cost a star a lucrative gig.

Jennifer Lopez was gearing up to perform in front of the Super Bowl of the Subcontinent, next Tuesday's opening ceremony of India's Premier Cricket tournament — watched by 60 million people — but organizers pulled the plug because of J.Lo's over-the-top orders, reports the New York Post.

On the list of requirements? A private plane for the pop star and a plethora of hotel rooms to accommodate her infamously sized entourage of stylists, assistants and a personal chef.

A source told the paper: "The demands made on behalf of Jennifer were outrageous. She effectively priced herself out of the event. It was an idiotic move.

I seriously don't understand how her ego got SO inflated. I can't help but think it's cost her careerwise, which is scary when you think about how insanely successful she's been.

A real diva demand is a room painted with a certain colour with some sort of flowers that don't grow there, etc so no need to decide if Jennifer Lopez is a diva or not because all her and her team wanted was food, flight, and hotel. How cheap are those promoters?

That is actually the basic standard for a concert rider. Even non-famous performers and side men don't pay for that stuff out of pocket. It's included in your booking, even if you're playing on a rock formation in Kurdistan 100 miles away from the Iraqi border (which is where my dude was 2 weeks ago)
