Maybe your life is not about coasting, but I am looking very much forward to enjoying the fruits of my life's labor on an emotional, spiritual, and tangible level as I get older, as do many people I know. What works for one as life aspirations do not always work for all and I certainly understand that. But there are just a few things I wanted to mention in regards to your response:
1. I never said anywhere in my post that the dating scene was horrible after age 50. I don't know where you got that from . But I will say it could be a challenge to meet a quality man on the same page that she is or for any woman that I know over the age of 55 in the cultural surroundings that we live in here. Certainly, it's easy to meet men at any time and any age when you go about it by advertising your cooch all over the net, and hooking up with random strangers to have ejaculate all over your face for one night only, but that's not her bag. But...different strokes for different folks, I always say.
2. You were not in the home to determine why she did this, that or the other. I was, and I know the feelings that were involved on behalf of both parties as well as the confused young woman that they helped raise who was caught in the middle, for whatever happened and however ugly it was.
3. I did not ask you to to feel sympathy for her situation, as after all, this was simply a babble thread (or so I thought), and did not know that someone would mistake it for me requesting opinions or their pronouncements on Life 101 for what was on my mind at the moment. However, from reading your post , allow me to respond by expressing that I am very sorry to hear that you had such an awful childhood with parents who did not love each other and made your life hellish and dramatic. It could not have been easy to carry that with you from childhood even until now, and I hope that the years have brought you healing and that you've not carried whatever may have been imprinted on your 'hard drive' into whatever relationships you've had as an adult friend, sibling, wife, lover, parent, and ect.

Up at 7, did some stuff around the house... Cleaned out old classroom from 8:00 until 10:30... Picked up stuff at Home Depot to fix the bathroom wall... Exchanged sweater at the mall... Stopped at ShopRite... Watched Y&R while eating lunch...
Sorting/organizing crap that I brought home from old classroom... while watching that unfunny Kevin Hart in "Think Like A Man"... Oh yeah, and an Org Break.

Sorry I upset you.
Anyway, the only thing that I will clear up is what I met about the dating scene. MANY people marry in there 20's to healthy individuals and when they are in their late 40's they still care about eachother but they realize that they would be better off seperating, seeing others, whatever. They are not all crazy. They just have grown apart ad many remain close friends.
So, they, after many years, are back on the dating scene. Some may want ejaculation on their face but many don't. They simply want that someone who wants to spend the next 25 years doing the same kind of things they do for relaxation and fun.
Again, sorry for upsetting you. As you can see my anger was more at my Mom for not just pulling the plug on the relationship long before we were all grown up and left the house. Sorry I projected. Sometimes when we read things on the internet it triggers anger in us we didn't know we still had.

1 Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is. Since I don't wear a watch I'm not familiar with this problem, but going to another room and forgetting occurs often.
2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong. Yeah well, admitting it is another thing.
3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger. I do love a catnap now and then.
4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.
5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet? I think I did it perfectly once. Other times I try, others I don't care they're clean.
6. Was learning cursive really necessary? Mine is horrific anyway.
7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on # 5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood. True.
8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died. I'm not the only one who thinks that, yay.
9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind-of tired. Yep.
10. Bad decisions make good stories. They do.
11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day. A few days like that.
12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blu-ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again. Oh my Gawd, yes. I'm getting tired of this.
13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.
14. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call. Nah, never done that.
15. I think the freezer deserves a light as well. Maybe.
16. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Light than Kay. True
17. I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.
18. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.
19. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said? Happening more and more.
20. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters! It is funny
21. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever. Uh, no.
22. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time. Too many times I don't even remember hitting it I'm so good at it.
23. The first testicular guard, the "Cup," was used in Hockey in 1874 and the first helmet was used in 1974. That means it only took 100 years for men to realize that their brain is also important. - Ladies, “Stop Laughing”!

My cat just came in with a mouse!
Fortunately he was afraid I would steal the mouse from him, he took the mouse outside.
I wonder if he eats the mouse, because he isn't eating the food I'm offering him.

I am not a prude by far, fall into the "very open minded" category. However there is a man I know that goes on and on about lover after lover and it is starting to gross even me out. Life is crazy but I am 10 times cuter then I have been in over 13 yrs. I mean it. This does not mean I am Sophia Loren now, lol. Old pics of me show a woman that looked like walking depression and I don't look like that now.
This means that I will be looking for a job as soon as I move my stuff into someone elses home. I'll stay there a bit and save money, etc. There came a time when the risk of remaining tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Anais Nin. | |

Remembeer Michael Jackson with Lisa Marie Presley? It was a couple made for TMZ before there even was a TMZ.
I would love to couple up Miley Cyrus and Lyndsey Lohan. It would be equally crazy and stupid. Miley could tweet day and night about loving a drug addict and not knowing what the hell happened to all her jewelry. Gosh this is such a beautiful picture! The one thing that I simply love about New Orleans is the flowers. We not only have blooming flowers nearly year round but the humidity keeps the smell in the air IMO. It is just so lush and pretty. We also have an amazing variety and I haven't a clue what half of them are. There came a time when the risk of remaining tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.
