Some federal mints now produce polymer (as opposed to paper stock) banknotes. Adding an antimicrobial agent to the compund would be easy.
It would be interesting to explore the social and economic benefits of doing so. [Edited 3/29/13 10:30am] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

Anyway, what I was gonna write a whole spiel about, was the microbiologists they always ask to come on TV to have an opinion on things like washing shopping trolley handles, say "germs are good for your immune system" I believe in germs so much I have a house full (as well as spores, but them I can't do so much about I'm afraid, since my houseplants only thrive in the kitchen). Eating dirt as a baby is a brilliant start. I'm the mistake you wanna make |

I'm not a major germaphobe, but I always wipe the handles of carts and baskets at the grocery store. I mean...have you seen some of the people at the store?
I'm pretty sure anybody who goes to the grocery store in pajama bottoms also didn't bother to wash their hands after their morning dump.

They don't care about you, they're trying to avoid getting themselves sick!
But honestly I have never noticed anyone handling money with their dirty gloves |

I've seen them touch their hair, scratch their face, use a Kleenex - all with the gloves on! It's no different to having dirty hands if they keep the same gloves on for hours I'm the mistake you wanna make |

I can't argue with that!
For those people, they wear gloves because their boss says that they have to |

Here, they would change gloves. They are not allowed to handle money and then make a sandwich without changing gloves.
The gloves are used to prevent worker to food contamination. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment |
