Share some wisdom!

"Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace."

-

"Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible."

Both of these are from the Dalai Lama (Hello, Dalai! wave).

Quotes from the Buddha:

1. However many holy words you read, however many you speak, what good will they do you if you do not act on upon them?

2. To keep the body in good health is a duty... otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.

3. “Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.”

I'm not sure if this is "wisdom", but I think everyone should do some travelling in their lives. Go to other countries and experience the way others live and their culture. Granted, there are some countries I have no interest in visiting but if you can visit a few countries in your life, I think it will help give you a different perspectic on things. I also believe that reading is extremely educational and important. I have read books of all genres and about many cultures. I think it's given me a better sense of how people live and why they do the things they do. It has also taught me that deep down we are more the same than different.

Also...wash your knit clothing inside out and it won't fade as quickly. It's friction in the washer and dryer that causes the bulk of fabric fade and wear.

And...most wear to linen comes as a result of what is called "flex abrasion" - which occurs along folded edges (pockets, waistbands, hems, etc). Linen's extremely long fibers want to "straighten out" in places where they've been folded, and that stress causes wear. So when storing linen clothing, sheets or table linens, do not fold the items. Just wad them up, creasing them as little as possible.

I know no study that will take you nearer the way to happiness than the study of nature - and I include in the study of nature not only things and their forces, but also mankind and their ways, and the moulding of the affections and the will into an earnest desire not only to be happy, but to create happiness. It all comes to this: the simplest way to be happy is to do good. Helen Keller

That's what people who think there's nothing good on TV watch.

I'm still confused.

Do you mean not to watch those two channels because people who are bored with T.V. watch them?

Or do you mean, the content is somehow boring, false, or dangerous, etc.?

I'mn not trying to pick a fight, but because I watch so little T.V., I coldn't figure out

where you were going with those statements.

CBS = not sure about

CMT = That's either the Christian News channel or Country Music channel, so I get that.

But the other two, I'm trying to figure out the line of reasoning--that's all.

Theres quite a bit of misinformation on history channel, even though it is more productive than the rest.
